LickButterAwesome!Keep up the great work! I love listening to this podcast!

SnizzzLove itConi and Meg are great, excellent research and story telling. Knowing Meg’s horrible backstory adds a whole new dimension to their approach. And they save the random (often hilarious) chit chat for after the story, which other podcasts could learn from. I will say, the trigger warnings and disclaimers get a little tiresome, though. If people are that delicate maybe they shouldn’t listen to a podcast described as gruesome and horrific.

✧₊⁎❝᷀ົཽ≀ˍ̮ ❝᷀ົཽ⁎⁺˳✧༚Go to podcastI’ve been listening to them for a long time, and I should’ve left a review sooner, but I love them. I love the cases, I love the gab, I listen start to finish and have been listening to the old cases nonstop while I paint. I’m almost out of episodes to listen to so it makes me look forward to the new cases even more!
-
BeccaBowersI really wanted to like this podcastBut I can’t listen to these people. I tried so hard but listening to 5 minutes of you going on and on about being a government employee is not fun.

She Listens13There is opportunity for better research and more thoughtful, engaging dialogue.I’ve listened to the podcast for a while and occasionally they will cover a case I haven’t heard which is what kept me coming back. Their research can be spotty and not always accurate which is an issue - they should be operating in facts. Today I was listening to the Jeffrey Dahmer Part 1 episode and during the long winded gripe session at the end about buying gifts a flippant political statement was thrown in. True crime podcasts are often a place people go to tune out the current nonsense. Not a good idea to potentially alienate a portion of your listeners that had made it through the episode. Just a thought.

AmelielouvreMy Favorite PodcastI started this a few weeks ago and binged every episode the moment I started. This podcast makes you feel like you’re in a conversation with friends. Meg and Connie present each episode with compassion but also keep it real with outrage for injustice and some humor like you would find in a conversation with your bestie. I can’t say enough good things about this podcast. By the time I was done I was SO SO sad because how will I find another podcast to compare now? I am looking forward to future episodes! Keep up the good work ladies!
-
Bri12590MehI can’t decide if I like this podcast or not. Some episodes are really well done while others are inaccurate and they don’t seem to know basic details about the case. They’re also very inconsistent with uploading new content. They sometimes go weeks with no new episodes
-
cdm129999LOVEI’ve tried several true crime podcasts and this is by far my favorite. Meg and Connie have such a funny sense of dry humor and I love listening to them. They know how to incorporate humor while remaining respectful and diligent about the cases they are describing. I cannot recommend them enough!! Also, the mark and John catfish stabbing episode is by far my favorite, I have listened to that one probably 10 times. Amazing work ladies!
-
melbeeeeeIncredible!Meg & Connie are excellent at telling these stories of true crime. They’re also so funny, down to earth and relatable! It feels like I’m hanging out with my friends when I listen to them because their sense of humor is awesome and just like mine. I was getting so bored with crime junkie and the other ones and i was so highly impressed with the first few episodes and now im so far on these episodes i don’t want to catch up because i love listening to them everyday! Keep up the good work!

jdkdkkdkekfRebeccaAfter years of listening to true crime podcasts and thinking I heard them all it’s so nice to be proven wrong! I just discovered this one within the last week and absolutely cannot stop. It has everything I’m looking for and the right combination of research, detail, empathy, humor and chemistry. I also love that the personal conversations are kept to the end so if I’m not in the mood I can just just to the next episode, but I’m finding out I’m keeping it on more and more until the end because it’s hilarious! Thanks so much for putting out such awesome content and don’t change anything!

kimberly from TexasGreat podcast, well-researched with not too much side chatter.I have about 30 true crime podcasts in my library and hadn't ever heard of this podcast until I recently read a recommendation for it in a negative review for the podcast “Morbid.” (I too have recently unsubscribed to Morbid for several reasons but primarily due to the overly gratuitous cursing and f-bombs in literally every sentence.) I’ve listened to several episodes of Gruesome and really like it. They only spend a couple of minutes chatting at the beginning of each episode and while they do curse, it’s not too much and you're not inundated with the “F” word. Hopefully, they won't devolve into that like so many other podcasts have. The research seems thorough, the two female hosts who have been friends since high school and are now in their 30s have great chemistry and don't talk down to or about their audience members or victims and family members of victims. Based on what I've heard so far, it's very good and I look forward to listening to the rest of them. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Oh, to the person or persons who have left a recent negative review, you left the review in 2024 (with only a few months until 2025) based on an episode from 2021? What in the world? That's ridiculous. If you’ve truly listened to any podcasts, you know they evolve and in my experience(s), they get better, not only technology-wise/equipment and in production value but in the manner they present cases and refer to topics or people. To leave a trash review almost FOUR years after the episode was released is weird. 🙄 Why don't you listen to some newer episodes and reserve your judgment until after you've done so? I have no affiliation with this podcast however, I do believe in being fair. To everyone else, give “Gruesome” a listen.

NullityUpdated reviewUpdated: wow. I cannot believe a podcast sunk this slow but on the January 6, 2021 episode one of the host says “I don’t recommend you watch this episode because the mother is on there with her “poor pity me act” or something to that effect. I’m so stunned, but not too stunned to run not walk to the unsubscribe button. Original: Wow, Meg’s story was unbelievable and I am shocked that she is so strong and frankly not completely insane after the situation that happened to her. Thank you for sharing. Scooby Doo show really does help instead of just entertain.
-
Cynt23Too much talkingThe banter at the beginning and end gets annoying. Meg is pretty good at telling stories but Coni doesn’t seem to do a lot of research. Often Meg will ask a question and Coni will respond with “oh I don’t look into that” and it’s really sloppy. Then the story will just drift off into their small talk and I guess that’s the queue that the story is finished?
-
dixie.girlLove it!Love this podcast! Love their friendship! It’s just the best! Binge worthy!
-
AgilreathMurder: GirlsplainedUnexpected and lesser known cases that the girlies really get into and tell well. They get right to it and leave the banter for the end. Keep it up, 5-star hero here 🙋🏻♀️
-
HammerThymeI didn’t “know” a true crime pod until I found this podYou two are so amazing. Naturally funny and brilliant, you cover unexpected / lesser-known stories. Your banter at the end of the episodes is legendary. I look forward to seeing you at the top of the charts!!!!!!!
-
Sound appImmediately, yes!Great podcast! They delve right into the episodes! Easy listening, light banter that's not distracting, it's enjoyable and relatable. (The banter, not the crimes😂)
-
RennnnsI love you guys!!I literally listen to you guys everyday sometimes even fall asleep listening to it. I literally be having convos with you guys while the podcast is going on. I just get a little disappointed when you guys be like “i’m not going to say everything cause it is soo gruesome” i might sound really weird but i enjoy the gruesomeness that’s what got me soo interested in the show but i also understand why you guys don’t give out every gruesome detail especially if it involves kids especially with you guys having kids. But is there a way that we can get a link to look it up ourselves if it’s too horrific to say on the podcast or maybe you guys do i just don’t know cause i rarely check out the insta page. but overall love love love please don’t stop!!
-
Beauty Sabrina GarciaAmazingAbsolutely great show!! I have been listening to their podcast for about; a little over a year now. Not only do they tell the stories with great ease and depth, they also don’t just dump you and cold water without warning. Love how they have conversations before and after, it makes me feel in the room with them as well as take the edge from the gruesome story! Inspires me to start my own podcast!!
-
alexdeziraeKinda fun to be obsessed with MurdererrrrsI absolutely LOVE this podcast. I found it a few months ago and I easily recommend it to everyone. I work overnight and listen for my entire shift. I laugh with them when they’re giddy, and cry with them when things get emotional because I feel like I’m in the room with them. I definitely enjoy the “yabber”. Haters gonna hate, right Coni? Love this Gruesome Duo! ◡̈
-
Gremlin_fishGreat showThe part I like the best about this show is the girls have real life experiences as survivors. So they can offer perspectives and handle the cases with a delicacy that not all podcasts can. They are also just delightful.
-
turbojen2Good podcast except for …2 super distracting habits of one of the hosts. Coni has an uncanny, like, ability to, like, use the word “like” so many, like, times in one , like, sentence. Aaa-nnn-da Coni can turn one syllable words into 3 syllables, especially pronouncing the word “I” at the beginning of a sentence as “aye-eee-aaa” when offering a personal opinion.
-
TootsieC1982The best on Apple PodcastsYou will not be disappointed starting this podcast, they are the best one I have listened to in a while. I just wish I would have found them sooner. I’m on season 2 now. I listen to them at work, in the shower, while driving, before bed you will be hooked. Great job ladies! Keep them coming.
-
B. PenzeraAwesome!I’ve been listening for a while now and you guys are amazing! Great content, love the banter and you guys really care about the victims. Thank you so much!
-
Kriss14dGreat podcast!!I have just started listening but I’m 3 stories in and I love it plus to tell such a private story that happened to you as a child is just something (I appreciate hearing your story and I hope it can help someone!!) I would definitely recommend this podcast to anyone!!!
-
Kimmyrios2015Love the showI love you both I have been listening since the beginning. You are serious when need to be but you crack me up too!
-
sickkkknaaaastyDear Diary…I was already sold on this show after binging the first 5 episodes, but I was REALLY sold in episode 6 when Meg starts the episode with a From First To Last lyric. My inner emo kid is screaming, and I’m hooked on this pod. 🤘🏻
-
HarleydowntownAlways 5 stars!Love listening to you guys no matter where I am. I always catch myself laughing at the jokes you guys crack and I love what you do!
-
ickskcofmao mdI’m pretty pickyI have a lot of sensory things, and so I very much choose podcasts based on peoples tones of voice, as well as the banter and the sincerity. These two seem very genuine. They’re bit of banter is just perfect. The cases they cover have been interesting so far although I just started listening and I am only maybe 10 or 15 episodes in. This is definitely a podcast I will finish all the episodes on. It’s pretty hard for me to find any that I like anymore so when this one was recommended to me on a FB group, I checked it out, and I was pretty dang excited.
-
shannnnnonnnnsuch a good podcast!i can’t believe this podcast is not more well known… i love coni & meg and it always feels like chatting with friends about horrendous crimes… the banter is a palate cleanser also and i very much appreciate that. keep up the good work ladies <3333
-
B.MobileA gruesome dynamic duoConi & Meg are born story tellers. They take turns being the weekly storyteller while the other one does the reactions. At the end of the episode there’s a little debriefing and unwind session which makes it more fun.
-
lisaq in KCLove, love, love!I have been a true crime lover for years…documentaries and books…hell yeah! It took me awhile to get into podcasts but someone recommended Gruesome and I’m totally hooked! Thanks ladies! Y’all are amazing!!
-
farazinNYCAs the kids say “ YASS QUEENS !Despite ,their annus horribilis ,2023 , Coni and Meg , have given us episodes, of in my humble opinion, that should , SHOULD, have them on top of the true crime podcast heap. Why they are not showered with accolades and garlands is a true crime in of itself . While some of their gen z podcasting peers , regularly take to the mic , half cocked , not making even the most basic and common sense effort of googling the legal jargon , ( some egregious offenders don’t not even bother to look up “big words “ beyond their comprehension )making for it infuriating and exasperating for their listeners . Somehow these subpar podcasts still manage to be top rated?? But instead of harping on the mediocre i will take my cue from the positive attitudes of C

Lizj0502I’m hooked!Gruesome is my new favorite True Crime podcast!! I was hooked from the first episode! Being from the Midwest, I can relate with Coni and Meg so much and their presentation of the cases is awesome! They are both awesome story tellers and leave no details behind! I have been binge listening to the episodes to get caught up and look forward to popping in the AirPods and turning on an episode!!
-
tspa85Love it! (Fellow HC native also!!)I was recommended this podcast only to realize who I was listening to! Meg was about five-ish years younger than me and I vividly remember what happened. I’m unbelievably excited to hear how well you’ve done and very proud of you! You and Coni are killing it and I have been listening for over a year now. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the great episodes!
-
Z nayFunny, dramatic and relaxing! How can you possibly be all three of these things? I don’t know but I find myself falling into the dark stories and the way the ladies tell them, laughing with them about relatable parenthood/marriage topics and I can sleep peacefully while replaying episodes when I lay down for bed! Yes, I sleep peacefully listening to Meg and Coni talk about horrific details of these true crime stories!
-
lmtrzbI am dying!!!( In a good way)Coni and Meg are equally amazing and make me so happy to listen to this uniquely different crime pod cast. True I am only 4 in, but I absolutely love a few things mentionable so far!! 1. is that they are great storytellers and give their personalities without loosing track. That’s important because While I love the “Humans behind my favorite podcasters, I still don’t like to have to rewind so much because you sometimes get lost in their own “Rants” in the middle of a story! These pro’s save it for the end and that’s when I can really appreciate and listen to that part on it’s good time! Thanks for that! 2. Is that Meg’s HILARIOUS impatience reminds me of myself so much and Coni takes and rolls with it perfectly as an amazing & loving bestie would! I’m hooked and I absolutely Love a podcast that isn’t afraid to go dark, yet carefully and respectfully bringing out so much laughter! At least to me personally! I am so happy I found this! ( PS) I found this podcast on an instagram comment from Morbid podcast who I also really enjoy. Thanks so much y’all! I’m here for it all!

_carrie__elizabeth_Ignore the HatersI used to listen to another True Crime Podcast but grew bored of (what felt like) the same thing every episode. Luckily, I found Gruesome a few weeks ago. I’ve already binged over a year’s worth of episodes & I am loving it. While, yes, I miss the days of “no commercials”- these ladies deserve to get paid. Personally, I love the banter, the giggles & I’ve started a tally for every time Coni says “conversated”. I find that I have so much in common with these hosts & as a fellow Aquarius (Coni), I feel without something to connect with, I grow bored easily. I love their “digressions”, as I can imagine my best girlfriends and I would do the same if we had a podcast. Coni & Meg- keep being your true selves, your fans love it.
-
Ubdn ch go gAmazingI do not know what I would do with myself (and on my way to work and home) without this podcast. It’s amazing and they cover very interesting cases that need to be heard. Keep up the good work!
-
B.CovingtonReally Enjoying the PodcastIt’s great to find a podcast that covers some little-known cases and mix in a little banter and levity. Enjoying the show although one of the hosts seems to have lost her ability to annunciate properly with words like ‘important’, ‘shut’, etc. It’s one of my pet peeves but Megan’s story telling and professionalism is worth sticking around for.
-
MelNoodle6Great True Crime PodcastI don’t typically write reviews but after reading a few negative comments, I felt inclined. I had some catching up to do when I found them about a year ago, and their content was so binge worthy! They do an excellent job balancing respect towards victims while still being funny and entertaining. Being a child of the Midwest, I appreciate ya’lls midwestern flavor. And you’re the cutest best friends ever! I find it irritating that people hate on voices. Whoever hates on someone for the way their voice sounds needs to get some therapy and figure out why they feel so inclined to be an adult bully. (Coni, your voice is fine!). Also, it would be nice if people were more understanding about the inconsistency. Podcast makers have life’s that don’t revolve around producing content for your selfish consumption. Their work is something that they do for us in between caring for a family, working full time jobs and being normal human beings. Just be grateful they are doing it! I don’t mind the inconsistencies, and just see the episodes as nice surprises when they come out :) Meg and Coni, y’all keep doing you, regardless of the haters. The majority of us accept y’all for who and how you are 🫶🏼 Thank you for all you do!
-
5 stars ladiesLOVE!!I really love listening to you all. Y’all crack me up. I’m everything true crime and I’m always on alert with people. Recently took in 2 boys because the mother tried to kill them. I seen the signs and took action
-
dianag9227I love itMy coworker recommended this podcast to me because I tend to be more interested in the more heinous true crime stories and these beautiful women not only tell some of the most heinous and gruesome things I’ve ever heard, they’re also kinda funny
-
Kasey1145Frog VoicePlease Coni, get the frog out of your throat. Your voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I really wanted to hear your podcast but I can’t listen to the most annoying voice ever.
-
indigo monaSuper inconsistent latelySuper inconsistent these past few months and it just seems like they don’t really care about the podcast anymore.
-
Brittly27Love it so far! This is such a refreshing true crime podcast! Switching over from Morbid (because UGH!) and love how you all actually tell the story, and keep the sidebars to a minimum AND you ladies are ACTUALLY humorous! I have a feeling this is going to be my new go-to podcast!
-
SjakwfqkspywhqidoeeSome less well known casesLess well known cases
-
NortneyMeg has the best podcast voice!I’m a big true crime chick like all of us. I had this one recommended to me, and I’m really enjoying it. I especially love Megs voice and how she talks, she’s one of my favorites out of all the pods I listen to. I’m very impressed how she shared her story with everyone! Glad they seem to be more willing to share even the bad facts of the crime instead of shying away like many others.
-
Melodyk2My New Favorite!I just found this podcast after binging through several other true crime podcasts. I wish I had found you ladies sooner! You have become my favorite podcast duo - I love your goofy banter and that a ton of your cases haven’t been covered elsewhere! Keep doing what you’re doing!
