This is an amazing podcast if you want to learn about hunting in most of the western states. Extremely informative and has helped greatly with my application strategies in the western states.

Jay seems to be a great guy that is willing to share his knowledge and love for hunting to help people improve out in the field.

Really enjoy the majority of the content but Chris Roe is tool. I need more content from guys that get it done not guys that constantly peddle themselves.

Awesome advice and get topics, I’ve learned a bunch of life lessons from it.

This podcast is good for its topics and info which on the negative side isn’t a wide range of audience, most all the info and topics is all about units that issue 2-3 non resident tags. Multiple episodes on the Kaibab, AZ Strip, Nevada, etc etc

I’m sorry man I have to say it, did you really just do 7-10 podcasts in a row about a oversized near tame chicken that you shoot as it’s walking on the ground towards you? Great Big game podcast, keep it up!

Awesome pod cast. Full of valuable information. Between Jay and Chris Roe they cover everything you need to know , to hunt turkeys out west successfully.

I started looking into applying for Western big game hunts a few months back. It’s not necessarily confusing, as many like to say, but it is laborious and incredibly time-consuming. Podcasts are great for this because you can listen passively and absorb info while driving, working out, w/e. This podcast provides insider knowledge on draw processes, units, and animals that will put you at a major advantage when thinking about drawing/hunt planning. When a deadline comes up I go and listen to all of the episodes for that state to learn as much as I can. It’s almost unfair how much info you can get. But hey, I’m sure Jay and the outfitter business are benefitting, so all’s well that ends well. Really enjoy the deep, detailed conversations and Jay’s laid-back but thorough style. Lots of the guests are really good listens, too.

Jay is an awesome host and the content is excellent.

Awesome podcast

Podcast would be great if Jay just let the guest speak and answer the questions. He asks a question, answers it, then asks the guest “do you agree?” More of the guests less of the host.

I find this show boring. The sound quality is often poor. I also feel like I am listening to an advertisement half the time.

Great guests, great topics, and great interview questions!

Jay has such a great podcast. He’s so good at asking questions to the guests that dug up valuable content and create great discussions. I love how detailed the discussions get with tactics, gear and thought process during a hunt. Top to bottom the content is very interesting to me from hunting, fly fishing and business. I always have many takeaways from each episode.

Much of my success in coues deer hunting has been attributed to your podcast. Thanks to your contributors and you for sharing knowledge 👍

As an Arizona hunter Jay shares tips and tactics that it has taken me a lifetime to learn through painful trial and error. While this can be painful at times I happily listen as his inquisitive interview style continually reveals new tactics for all aspects of hunting and fishing. Thanks Jay and keep up the good work.

MeatEater seems to be the gold standard on all platforms in this industry and this podcast is not it. It’s more. Jay would be the first to tell you that he’s not an entertainer; however, it’s a very good and essential listen in my opinion. Where podcasts like MeatEater are funny group discussions and cover broad stroke conservation topics Jay gets into the fine details with his guests and podcasts. MeatEater is meant to entertain while also informing you and this is straight up purposed to inform you and it does that while also entertaining you. I personally think this does a better job fulfilling its purpose than the MeatEater Podcast and I’m a big MeatEater fan. Between here and his Instagram account you can get all of your specific hunting questions answered and (I’ll say this without meeting him in person) he’s just a good dude. It took me a while to rate this podcast but it doesn’t deserve anything less than 5 stars. As a hunter I don’t know why you’d choose to not listen to it no matter what experience level you’re at. Love the podcast and what you do! God bless!

Hands down my favorite source of information on western game hunting and hunting equipment. Covers a variety of states and species with a great lineup of guest interviews. Really dives into detail on the tactics, knowledge, and equipment it takes to successfully prepare for and execute your next hunt. Has significantly increasing my knowledge and success on field judging and harvesting Coues deer and Elk. Definitely worth your time!

Episodes are ful of information and enthusiasm. I have listened for years and wouldnt miss one. Im not a hunter but am deawn to tge quality and integrity of Jay's content.

Jay Scott is my favorite podcast to listen to as a outdoorsman. Jay is a no frill get to the point kind of guy. Jay is not a faker but is a honest genuine person. He provides timely guest and topics for tag draws, hunting, & fishing calendar. Every episode I seem to always learn something from Jay and his guest. Jay is an excellent outdoorsman and a great interviewer. If you love to hunt and fish this will benefit you. Give it a try you won’t be sorry!!!!

This is the best resource for AZ hunting and hunting in the west! I was successful this year and killed both my first Mule Deer and Bull Elk and both were archery. I’ve been listening to Jays podcast since 2015 and attribute a lot of my success to it. Everything from which units to apply for to gear to who to contact for info on certain hunts.

Jay and his guests offer the best, valuable research and insights available if you are interested in hunting and just as important, drawing tags for, coues deer, elk, sheep, turkey etc. his podcasts are clean, non-fluff and to the point. And this service is free. Jay truly does this as a service. Thank you Jay!

Informative podcast that covers Coues, Elk, Sheep, and Turkey hunting adventures as well as fly fishing and optics. Primarily western hunting, Arizona and Mexico focus. Professional and clean. Interviews great guests very well. Eager to answer questions.

This podcast is great. I’m an elk hunter in Colorado and the information from Jay and his guests have helped me fill a tag several times. Give it a listen and I guarantee you will subscribe.

Quality of sound is terrible to listen to for a period of time. Jay is very knowledgeable about Arizona hunting and habit. He definitely pushes his products that sponsor him and has general bias on the products he uses.

Hi, A lot of the things you guys are talking about I know, but forget every year! Listening to your podcast every year before elk hunting in Oregon really helps me. You go through everything. I get into A LOT of bulls, but I always mess up the last 100 yards. You talking about different calling scenarios and when to cow call is a blessing. I also just love listening to your pod cast! Jay, I have been a fan of yours for many years. The elk hunting info I've learned from you and your guests has been invaluable. However, the sound quality lately has dramatically decreased. It makes it almost impossible to listen to in ear buds. Static, hollow sounding. Please work on this, I really enjoy the information.
