    Sad he's gone
A shame he gave up on such a promising podcast, but I'm sure his work was more important.

    Literally the best
Somehow Dr Stu makes concepts I have no real knowledge of completely approachable. I am fascinated by astronomy and physics... I have listened to many of the ‘coast to coast’ type programs over the years. This show covers so many topics I’ve been skeptical, but honestly curious about. I have listened over and over while working, picking up little concepts of scientific formulas Dr Stu throws out as a foundation for exploring the shows topic. Apologies if this review is choppy, I planned on writing ‘show good’ , but I just can’t encapsulate how many years of study packed into a digestible topic, topped with a dry wit that grows on you this podcast is. Only downside- there is a last episode. ‘5 minutes with an astronomer’ is also excellent. C’mon Dr Stu, 5-6 more episodes would be wonderful! Many thanks for the hours of entertainment and knowledge you shared. Thanks, Remodeling guy in Indiana.

It’s been inactive for a while and I’ve been re-listening to it.

Makes You Smarter than You Were Before
Astro/Geophysicist Dr. Stuart Robbins doesn’t suffer fools. He’s as nerdy and dry as can be on the surface, but as you listen you start to realize that underneath his brainiac exterior beats the heart of a droll, take-no-prisoners comedian and social commentator. I was surprised to discover that Dr. Robbins doesn’t like Monty Python, because his 100th episode special was so spoofy and funny that I laughed out loud through the whole thing. But don’t be misled. Dr. Robbins’ intent is serious. His inspiration for this podcast was his desire to overturn, or at least challenge, the imbecilic “worldview" of conspiracy theorists and fake scientists who showcase their hokum and woo on the Coast to Coast AM radio show, and elsewhere. For me, it’s been a great learning experience regarding the fundamentals of astronomy. As you listen, you will become a lot more knowledgeable about what’s true, and what isn’t true, when confronted with the ongoing hoaxes that occupy the tiny minds of people who desperately want to believe that NASA is an agent of the Illuminati. You mean the Earth really is not hollow? There are no alien cities on Mars? Who knew??? P.S. Dr. Robbins is on hiatus since mid-2017. Listen to all 170 episodes, and then start nagging him to get back on the air. We need ya, Doctor Stu. Shalom.

    Excellent
I have been powering through the back catologue of these episodes for a few weeks now and I have yet to find an uninteresting episode. Dr. Stuart Robbins does an amazing job of making serious science understandable. I will be hoenst and say there are plenty of things that go over my head, but ultimately I can follow along. I love that he uses interesting and far out wacky claims to find an "in" to explain real science to people like me who need the controversial hook to be interested. I have learned so much and am frequently floored by the depth and of research the is presented in these concise segments. I just realized that he had been on a long break, I have not listened to the newest episode, but I hope he's back to stay.

The alternative prescription for tin foil hats
Perhaps the most genuine podcast out there. Certainly a labor of love... that you will love, too. Ever listened to Coast to Coast A.M., The Unexplained, etc. and thought, “No. No that isn’t right...that can’t be... what a load of ....”? Well, rather than yelling, listen to this. Yeah, you know they are full of it, but Dr. Robbins takes the time to research and prove it with facts and an occasional beat down with logic. All the Astro-crazy from the shows above, without the “buy gold” or ”take pig vitamins” commercials and with generous portions of reality and dry humor added.

    Interesting podcast, fantastic podcaster
I stumbled upon this a few months ago and am really pleased with Stuart Robbins's discussions on a rather wide range of subjects. Much of what he says is not really new to me, but he's a professional and I'm not, and I've learned something new from every one (and there have been some about topics that I didn't even know that I was unwarare of). His style is very relaxed and entertaining but he also seems determined to be very accurate. The mix is just right: people with very different levels of knowledge about astronomy and physics can each feel that he has given them something new and exciting to think about. And one more thing: Stuart mentions other podcasts or blogs from time to time, and they are all seem to be worth following up with. I think I'm now a little over-subscribed when it comes to podcasts! Much later: still listening and still enjoying every episode

One of my favorite podcasts. Wish he posted more episodes
Awesome show debunking conspiracies as a good means of teaching science
  • DonatoDan
    Brilliant, respectful fact based podcast
Although Stuart is considered a "skeptic" it appears to me that he is only laying out facts in a scientific thoughtful manner. Those on the non-science fringe consider him a main stream scientist which, as we all should know is a back handed compliment at best. Bravo for him challenging these absurd carnival barkers. I listen because I learn something new every time. Stuart, thank you!

    Yes! Yes!
Wow. I love this guy! Gotta a lot of catching up to do.

    Science Teacher
Great podcast. Stuart does an amazing job of explaining how science is actually done. Listen to the episode on how to do a experiment to test Hoagland's hyperdimensional physics- great stuff. Glad to hear you will be doing a series on the claims of climate change skeptics. Nothing could be more important at this time. Keep up the fight Stuart!

    Fuel for my inner nerd
Love this podcast. Stuart (or Stewart) does a great job breaking down and debunking all the YouTube University crap (flat earth, 1970s aliens that look like models, other weird crap that people actually believe). He also does a great job teaching the listeners how to critically think in the process. Hope he continues to make more.

    Good Shtuff
Excellent. As a generally ignorant layman I thoroughly enjot Dr. Robbins explaining the science of these fascinating subjects. He fills a niche between cynical and credulous. Thank you for taking the time to educate.

    The REAL Sheldon Cooper
This is a really great podcast. Delivered fresh, full of information by very Knowledgeable commentator. Delivered with just a touch of in my case of a " I'm a much more learned person than you are, and the information that I convey is simply fact!" Stuart Robbins is a delight to listen to so just subscribe already. whats the matter are you afraid you might learn something? I'm revising my first review back in June 2012 as I've started listening to "Exposing Pseudoastronomy" Podcast again from episode 1, after finishing "Monster Talk" for the 3rd time. as Stuart is a guest on one of their episodes. That reminded me how much I Love his snarkiness. I'm not a scientest armchair or otherwise, I dont play one on Television nor am I an exceptionally bright person. However I am bright enough to understand concepts, to read up on the subjects that interset me, and to recognize Junk Information when I hear it. This podcast is NOT Junk information, It's fact based and peer reviewed by scholars I'm sure.

    Fun and informative
A lot of it is over my head, but I like it anyway.
  • TheNexus88
    Informative
If you don't believe me, listen. If you do, listen... either way, listen. Good info.

    Clear concise information
This show is wonderful at not just debunking but educating. I find it very refreshing to hear the truth of science instead of the silliness of fakers.

    Highly recommended!
    Fabulous!

    Hard science is interesting too
I like how you break down complex issues into things that the non science trained can understand while still having it be hard science. Thank you very much and came over from when you did Cognitive Dissonance Podcast. Keep up the great work and i will be listening.

Cool, calm and collective, as my dad would say. An excellent podcast and a stellar addition to Debunkatron, thanks.

    Great podcast
It's refreshing to listen to a level headed, intelligent person debunk so many conspiracy theories. Thanks for coming back!
  • W.T. Bridgman, Ph.D.
Great that Stuart is finally back...
An excellent quality podcast which I often recommend to others dealing with pseudo-science issues and which I often reference myself.
  • Justalistener
    Great!!
I heard about this thru another podcast. I've already listened to 10 episodes. Every single one of them is just the subject matter I'm interested in.
  • Dudeman6802
    Superb!
It's so refreshing to hear a hard science podcast that cuts through the nonsense and gets to the real science. Pulling no punches, Mr. Robbins unapologetically and unabashedly puts pseudoscience in its well deserved time-out, and instructs on the basic truths behind the misconceptions that give rise to psuedoscience in the first place. We need more podcasts like this one!
  • Anti-Citizen
    Makes your brain feel good
Sometimes a little dry, but like a good Gin sort of dry. If you find conspiracies entertaining, having such a through breakdown of why claims wouldn't work beyond just the logical fallacies is great.
  • randytoad
    Great podcast
Although it's fun to hear Stuart debunk pseudo astronomy, what I like most about this podcast is how much I learn about real astronomy from listening to his detailed debunkings.
  • Cactus chef
    Great show
Dr. Robbins more than makes up for his average sound quality and production by providing logical and scientifically accurate explanations dismantling popular hypotheses. I have learned a lot from this podcast and have done so in an enjoyable manner.
  • kwasell
    A cold glass of water
I listen to late-night radio as I'm drifting off to sleep and like the wild ideas fostered there as fantasy. This podcast confronts them head-on in reasoned, lightly humorous (and particularly in the case of Pluto astoundingly well-connected) tones. Cool and refreshing after the exotic cocktails of the night before.

    A+
Wish I had this podcast when I was growing up in a crazy fundamental christian church. Live by knowledge not by fear.

    Hip hip hooray!
I'm a long-time listener, and a Bible-believing old Earth creationist. And appreciate Stuart's sharp mind and superb communication style. This is by far one of my favorite podcasts, and eagerly anticipate each new episode.

    A perfect podcast
With so many podcasts available, I am often trimming and dropping subscriptions in favor of more informative, interesting, and concise productions. Exposing PseudoAstronomy has become a mainstay of my science/skeptic group. It is a perfect one-stop-shop for not only all things astronomical that need explanation (and correction and clarification after the media and others hack things up), but an unexpected yet delightful source of science education, which is often necessary to explain just why these topics need the above correction and clarifications. Please keep up the fantastic work!

    Fantastic Podcast
I discovered this podcast a few weeks ago and ended up downloading almost the entire back catalog. I’m a farmer and listen to podcasts while I’m working in the fields so have a lot of time to listen and have heard a good chunk and I’m amazed at the quality of the content of this podcast. One man’s noncommercial effort, he’s just trying to keep the world from getting stupider due to all the pseudoscience being spread on late night radio and various web sites. No personal attacks, just good science to refute bad science. Highly recommended!
  • Phoenixxrecyc
    Nice job
I am very impressed with the amount of information and very little opinion. I will continue subscribe. I really enjoyed "age of the earth without radiometric dating".
  • B.Lugosi
    Exceptionally well done!
I eagerly await each and every episode of this podcast. Stuart Robbins is always thorough and never dismissive. The show doesn't shy away from scientific details including math, physics, and history where required, but weaves these details into a well-constructive narrative to counter false claims. Easily one of my favorite science podcasts.
  • Fgityou
    Love it
I have been a long time listener of coast to coast am, let me add, a listener in the same sense as one would watch jerry springer. love how Doc Robbins calls them out in his polite yet subtle way as to say "really....are you crazy??" Without actually saying it. Glad someone credible is out there countering some of the out there claims. Keep up the good work.
  • Rugbyisgood
    Awesome
Awesome, have enjoyed Dr Robbins take on skepticism and astronomy since him appearing on the conspiracy skeptic. Enjoying his take on pseudoscience and astronomy. Keep it up

    Exposing Pseudo Astronomy
Good sound and production value so it doesn't offend the ear. Based on the shows I have heard, a podcast worth subscribing too. A solid science foundation but with a sense of humor- serious about silence but not taking itself too serious which is a delicate balance. Nice song clips too, if they had a music station I would listen to that too!
  • Fegmaniac7
    Excellent podcast
Extremely informative and entertaining. Keep up the good work!

    Intellectually honest!!
I’m not much a fan of the debunking / skeptic genre but this one is a refreshing gem. An intellectually genuine, content-laden GEM! Can't believe it's a one-person production.
  • stevethescienceguy
    The best!
One of the best skeptic podcasts! The host takes the time thoroughly cover each topic providing a great educational experience
  • LanceMoody
    Excellent!
Systematically demolishes the delusional and antiscientific work of pseudoscientists and scam artists.
  • Marklininak
    On target
Stuart uses these topics as starting points for great science discussions. He speaks slowly and in an easily understood fashion. This podcast is half way between "Star talk radio" and "conspiracy skeptic". Thank you Stuart"
  • Kantalope
    Great
This is a great podcast. Everyone with an interest in astrology and the weirdness it sometimes attracts should listen.
  • jason92145
    Best podcast ever
Without a doubt, one of my favorite podcasts. I listen to a lot of skeptical podcast but this one is well produced, well spoken, and well researched. As someone who likes science/astronomy but doesn't have a lot of knowledge in those areas, this podcast helps push all the nonsense aside and focuses on the truth.

What did I ever see in Richard Hoagland?
Thank you, Dr. Robbins, for this excellent podcast. I love your show not only because you give your listeners the straight scoop on all sorts of wacky topics, but also because you're not afraid to own the limits of your own knowledge and expertise. As a long time listener of C2CAM, I was a big fan of Richard Hoagland. I figured him for a crackpot from his behavior, but what he said made sense to a layperson like me. Your show has helped me, and others like me, to enjoy the stars while keeping our head safely out of the clouds. Keep up the good work.
