I am way late to the game, but I binged all 8 seasons of Dexter in about 2 months. I wasn’t ready to let go of the story, so I started listening to this podcast. Gareth is an excellent and thoughtful narrator, and I’m happy to revisit the show and process my thoughts. Great work!

I am so glad you’re covering Original Sin! I have always loved your in-depth analysis of the show, and appreciate hearing your perspective, even when we disagree about some of Dexter’s more positive attributes and how New Blood ended!

Best Dexter podcast out there. Gareth thoroughly covers each episode and provides interesting commentary. Listener feedback is fun to hear too, especially for episodes that were made week to week as they were airing (seasons 5-New Blood).

First two episodes are straight up recaps with absolutely no added value. In the second episode, the host speculated that LaGuerta is jealous of Debra for being another competent female officer. Presumably he’s aware that LaGuerta (a seasoned lieutenant with political connections) knows that Debra (a rookie, uniformed officer who poses no threat to her) has a bad temper, acts impulsively, and is unprofessional, which she’s transparent about in later episodes. He follows this up with referring to Masuka’s ubiquitous sexual harassment as “fun”. I pushed through to episode 3 where he quickly calls LaGuerta “arrogant” and is delighted that Angel joins in on Masuka’s recounting of a sex act that involves insulting a woman during the act. To recap the host’s uninspired recaps, women are petty and jealous, sexual harassment in the work place is good fun, and trapping a woman under you and insulting her is a chill conversation and to have with your colleagues.

I’m a day late and a dollar short but I just wanted to leave a positive review anyway. I’ve listened from the review of the pilot and now through the first review of New Blood. It’s been my favorite podcast for a couple months now. As an avid Dexter fan, I’m a tad upset I didn’t find it earlier as I’m positive I would’ve called in with colorful feedback. Thank you Gareth for dedicating your time and effort all these years. It’s truly appreciated and enjoyed.

I’m new to Dexter. Didn’t have showtime back in the day, and never watched it because of the negative reviews of the ending. But since there’s a new season, I binged it all! I’m happily reliving it through this podcast. Thanks for putting this out!

Started listening when Dexter New Blood began, and got inspired to start my own rewatch of the original series. Loving the insights into the originals and the new episodes. Hope you’ll eventually finish seasons 3 & 4!

Don’t know if I reviewed this podcast years ago, I hope I did. I have to say that New Blood isn’t really doing it for me. I want to like it, hope it picks up. I’m more excited to hear Gareth’s voice again. I’ll keep watching just to listen to this podcast.

First of all I love this podcast !! The only problem I have is that I just listened to his rewatch of season 1 & 2 and when I went to listen to season 3 there was only ONE episode 😭 and NO episodes for season 4!!!! That's one of my favorite seasons 😭

I'm discovering the podcast long after the show has gone off the air and find it to be brilliant. Great host who comes across as informed and as a true fan of the show.

Incredibly late, already have watched all of Dexter. But I miss it and have been listening to this podcast at my mindless job. Really enjoying the sound clips. *I* DO enjoy your rambles. Come on Gareth, where is season 3-5???? Love your detailed recap of this great show and I understand that season 4 is one of the best so I was hoping to get your thoughts on them but don't see them.

Very in-depth look into the Dexter series!!

I discovered the podcast during last season and immediately listened to all the rewatch podcasts. Gareth is an entertaining host with some "entertaining" regulars, overal a very well done, well thought out and fun podcast. Now if only Gareth would do a Breakling Bad podcast....

I have really been enjoying this podcast and only wish I'd discovered it much much sooner. This season I downloaded a few Dexter podcasts, tried them out and only ended up keeping three: The show's Wrap-up, another pretty major one and this one. that says a lot. I love the calm demeanor and thoughtfulness he puts into his analyses and reviews. If I have one complaint it would be that I wish the podcasts would air sooner. Right now it's Wednesday morning and I'm still waiting for the podcast from Sunday's episode. I keep checking daily. I think last week it showed up on Tuesday. I'd like it to air the following day like the other two I follow. It's worth the wait though! Keep up the good work!

I look forward to this podcast almost as much as I look forward to new episodes of Dexter. So sad it is all coming to an end!

This is the only real podcast that looks into the program with a circumvent approach to the program. There are interviews with cast members and during the season the podcasts are regular. Show time have a podcast and there are maybe one or two others but this is the best especially as there is weekly opportunity to send your own review or thoughts. Final plus is there are snippets of the program to relive! Carry on the good work.

Your podcast reminds us all what an awesome show Dexter is. Your rundown of the episodes bring good insights and usually makes want to go back and re-watch the episodes, all you sound clips are great (want more of those) and you're hard work and patience of going through the feedbacks to make sure that they are part of your show is commendable. Lastly the quality of your audio is great, hard to believe that your in a van instead of real studio 😄.

Topnotch treatment of an amazing (and disturbing) show. I have just recently finished watching Season One of Dexter, and was impressed by the tight and unpredictable scripting, the excellent musical score, the interesting characters and character development ... and (of course) Julie Benz - teriffic actress. Watching Dexter is exhausting, because on one hand the guy is so broken and damaged that you feel sympathy for him, and given his childhood trauma, you can almost understand (if not approve) of his extracurricular activities ... but at the same time, he IS a merciless (though, thanks to Harry, "principled") vigilante. Even as the writers, producers and actors work hard to humanize Dexter, it's impossible for me to give him a "pass." Anyway - just want to say "thanks" for creating and posting this podcast. I'm halfway through the 'casts for Season One, and so far the recaps are a great way to remember and reinforce one's assimilation of the story. Your use of sound bites is perfect for what you are trying to do, IMO. Here's hoping you are able and motivated to podcast the entire series - well done!

An entertaining, quirky host, emails and voicemails for feedback on all the episodes, with in depth reviews and interesting take aways. Even though there is only one host, it feels like a collective effort with the ability to give feedback and hear Gareth's responses to those voices. I have really enjoyed your season 7's podcasting and my only complaint is how smart the listeners are! Catching things the writers missed, or were sloppy about, and coming up with some great ideas for plot twists and possible avenues the show may explore, and for that very reason I waited until the season was over with before listening to the podcast - I didn't even want to hear potential story archs in case someone was right about a twist! I'm a Dexter purist and need to be in a complete bubble during the show run so that no outside thoughts seep into my brain :) But how much of a complaint is that? "You all are too intelligent, try to dumb it down!" No, I would never want that, I love how well everyone disects Dexter! :) Currently listening to the season 6 podcast, and loving it. I guess I'll keep going backwards until the final season starts up and the podcast follows it. Keep up the awesome work, Gareth!

This is by far the best Dexter podcast I have listened to and unfortunately I have listened to the other ones. Afterbuzz TV is not that bad. Gareth loves the show, is very intelligent and thoughtful in his review and the listener feedback is entertaining and insightful. I look forward to this podcast and enjoy listening to it. Been listening for the past 4-5 weeks now. Excellent analysis and entertaining presentation. Love the show, guests, and listener feedback. Travis can be a little negative, but hey, I consider myself a Dexter loyalist. I've enjoyed every season a lot, as opposed to many other people. Same goes with most shows I enjoy. I tend to hang where other people bail. Late seasons of SG-1, for example. Sorry for rambling. Great work, Gareth. You compose your thoughts well, and your accent adds a nice effect, and is a welcome change over here in the US. BOOM

If you are watching the show, but cant quite get your fill, or you have not had enough, this podcast satisfies. And I LOVE how interactive the listener audience is in this show, with viewer feedback being read off and/or listened to. Well done.

Garreth is one cool mamma jamma! Love hearing his thoughts on the show and he makes Dexter even more enjoyable to watch. I watch this show alone and a big tv buff so it's like having a conversation with a fellow fan the next day at work . Travis, as a guest to the show could tone down the vulgarity a touch though. Minor detail though. Not trying to hate. Overall 10/10 as far as podcasts go.

Stumbled upon this podcast just in time for Season 7 of Dexter and all I can say is "Awesome". Love this podcast. Gareth is obviously a huge fan of the show and it shows in his podcast. Makes watching Dexter much more enjoyable. The way he's able to look at each episode and "dissect" it is great. I highly recommend this podcast.
