I’ve listened to this podcast review Shogun, Mandalorian and now severance and they do the best deep dive on every episode and have an excellent dynamic. I truly hope to hear more. Keep it going!

I quite enjoy Mangum Talks podcasts but the inability to pronounce characters, patricianly female characters, names correctly is disheartening. Gemma, Helena, Ms. Huang, Willa from Succession. Come on. The show tells you how to pronounce them correctly.

I’m a stay at home mom and it’s so great to have this playing in the background as I’m doing chores or hanging in the playroom with my one year old. I love the detail and analysis, it perks me up and keeps my mind engaged. I love my son and I’m lucky I can choose to stay home to take care of him… BUT hanging out all day with a baby is surprisingly lonely and these guys keep me company in the best possible way.

I absolutely adore deep diving into this show with you both. You have such a great vibe with each other that it feels like I’m just hanging out with two buddies arguing our hot takes. The background knowledge you bring and care you take with dissecting each scene makes you stand out from the other Shogun pods I follow. I only need to loudly disagree with Spencer through my phone a few times here and there. LOL Enjoyed this one so much I went back and binged your Dragons pod and can’t wait to watch Fall Out and the new Dragons season with you both. Thanks for sharing your time and thoughts!

So I don’t really review podcasts and when (wait, what’s that?!? IS THAT 5 STAR REVIEW MUSIC) I LOVE this podcast. Listening to the guys after every episode has greatly enchanted my enjoyment of the show. Not chance I would have liked Shogun as much as I do, if I hadn’t listened to this. Really appreciate all the details you guys catch and your insights. So, cheers to you, wrestling analogies, lawyers, and Mariko still alive somewhere!

Can you at least TRY to make an effort to pronounce things right? The butchering of names and places is so distracting I have a hard time enjoying the podcast. In the the most recent episode (8), Spencer literally says the right pronunciation of Edo (eh-dough), and the other guy immediately mispronounces it in the next sentence (Eee-dew). It’s like he isn’t listening at all.

Engaging discussion between the hosts. They put a lot of work into these reviews and it is much appreciated. Will follow their work on other shows.

Love the podcast, but I've noticed a pretty significant echo in Spencer’s audio that can be a bit distracting. Your co-host's audio sounds much clearer, so it seems like it might be an issue with the room you're recording in. Maybe try recording in a smaller space or looking into some soundproofing techniques to reduce the echo? It would make a big difference in the overall quality of the podcast and make it more enjoyable to listen to.

This podcast gives the best explanation of who is who in the beautiful Shogun FX TV series. I was totally lost by episode two of the series until I listened to this podcast. It helped me understand who the players were, why they were doing what they were doing, and how it varied from the book. I look forward to episode three with a better understanding the characters. Great job!
