I’m not sure how I stumbled upon this podcast but I’m HOOKED. Matt’s analysis is so smart and he always has the best guests.

I try not to be “too” online so this podcast helps me stay aware of pop culture and political culture stories that I might not ordinarily know about, but probably need to know about. And I really enjoy the cultural critique and sense of humor.

Sometimes episodes run too long for my taste but I found myself wanting more, more, more of the recent “Alpha Males” episode with Ryan Brick. It’s a little surreal that I’m advocating for content including a straight, white, cis dude buttttt it was undeniably entertaining. I’d totally subscribe just for a five-hour long cut to listen to y’all gab. Thanks for your work, Matt! Your podcast is great.

I wanted to like this one, and like Matt’s style of humor, but after the Gwen Stefani episode where I listened to three white people trash religion, religious people, and in particular Catholics, I am disappointed …and disappointed at Black self for being surprised that this group will feel so free to belittle, single story, and trash the largest religion in the world and not first pause and think—does this perpetuate division? Hate? Prejudice? What made it worse is that they could so clearly see that with Tucker Carlson but couldn’t see they were doing the same thing. Funny, my Catholic Church can have trans members as church leaders and pray every mass for an end to white supremacy, yet accordingly to this podcast were the gullible, “by nature” easily scammed, and fascist. I suppose they were right, I stupidly thought this podcast might realize they were perpetuating disinformation that has not alienates and makes it even harder for queer people of faith to feel welcome in the already white supremacist American queer “community”

This episode on Gwen had me cackling bc matt kept calling her Gwyneth Paltrow. I love the banter it’s perfection

ok I’m not sure how I found this podcast but I am SO GLAD i did. Uggghhhh i hate labels but I get it, sorta, i’m a whatchamacallit then…a cisgender Gen Xer and i freakin luv this b/c it’s extremely informative and I’m sick of the unfairness that plagues society. We’re a bunch of Homosapiens existing on planet Earth. We ALL deserve happiness. Life is hard enough especially when it comes to illness and injury…WHY THE HECK are people still picking on each other just for being human?? I’ve read some other comments and I’m not gonna poo-poo anybody, if ya really can’t stand how a person sounds then just don’t listen to that episode (Matt can talk all day long tho i dig his voice) I totally appreciate the candid discussions with everyone sharing their knowledge. Oh. and i FINALLY watched an episode on YouTube. Dude! That was not how l pictured Matt in my mind. omg it’s like reading a book, you imagine how a character looks, but then they make a movie and you see the actor who’s playing that role and you’re like, Whaaaat?! That was fun. This host is a shining example of Gen Z 👏🏼 We def need more people like Matt in the world. 🩷🖤

the episode with kat blaque was was one of the best on the pod. easy to listen to, insightful, informative. no fighting with the script or preaching to the choir. the vibe was a talk between friends. you know what that is? growth 🤌 love to have more kat on the pod!

IMO Kat’s valley girl way of speaking and affect is over the top unbearable. Otherwise it’s an amazing show.

We need more voices like these online. Funny, thought-provoking, and thorough. I love Matt and all the guests! Keep it coming!

I love the pod, but I’ll be completely honest: Kat’s vocal fry is borderline unbearable to listen to. She has great insights but maybe her auto tuning her voice will help make it more bearable.

I like Matt, but his cohosts are dragging this down. The vocal fry is frying and the gals sound like that SNL skit about the gigantic Stanley mugs. Lots of pointless giggling to fill empty moments after comments that are clearly not funny and not meant to be funny. It’s unlistenable.

I like Matt and the topics on the show and am happy to have found it - but I absolutely cannot stand to hear Kat talk. She’s one of those women that every last word she says ends up sounding like a question, and it’s so grating and annoying. Taylor does it too somewhat, but Kat does it ALL THE TIME. It almost puts me off from listening at all for that reason alone, and makes it a podcast I listen to when all of my “main” podcasts don’t have any new episodes.

I love Kat’s explainers, like DARVO (!), and how well researched she always is. I find her voice to be both important and pleasant sounding. This podcast is original and a breath of fresh air.

I have been a fan of Matt for a while, I really applaud him for his warmth, his compassion to people across the aisle, his nuance, his jokes and of course incredible analysis of things that are going on today! I have fallen in love with Taylor Lorenz and their brilliant analysis of the alt-right, issues the left needs to work on, while giving us top notch research and commentary. Can’t recommend it enough!

Covers the most stressful topics in a digestible way.

Matt is a thoughtful and funny person who thinks deeply about things but doesn’t take himself too seriously. And he has a very nice voice!

In all seriousness, fan of the content and wanted to keep listening- queer mama with a queer black kid who could really use these important discussions- however neither of us can get through a few seconds of the co-host’s vocal timbre. Don’t take it as shade, take it as a common note and honest review. Will she be on every episode? As well as the live show? If so, you’re choice and ours to choose another queer show to listen to, but still a crazy thing to double down on and tbh very white woman to do!

I was surfaced this podcast through following In Bed with the Right. I’m no longer on socials but used to love Matt’s infographics and actually had no idea he had a podcast until two days ago! Since then I’ve been binging. Matt, your calm demeanor, humor, impeccable guests, and just overall delightful conversations about some very UN delightful topics is bringing me so much joy in this moment. Thank you!

I’ve been listening to this podcast for over two years and I love it. I look forward to every new episode. Matt Bernstein is very insightful and funny. He knows how to pick guests that are educated on the topic at hand. I think about the episode about surviving AIDs in the 1980s all the time because it was truly incredible to learn about LGBTQIA history with a guest who lived through it. All the background information in each episode makes it extremely easy to understand the topics and walk away feeling as though you learned something new. They’ve done an incredible job putting this together and I can’t wait to see how it progresses in the future!

Beyond his innate likability and adorable laugh, Matt B is a true leader. In this podcast, he provides a thoughtful, intelligent, well researched, and insightful discussion of today’s issues. This not “fluff” — it’s important content that all Americans need to hear. As a Gen Xer disappointed with our current leadership, Matt’s commentary gives me hope for the future. I hope he runs for office one day. <3

I love this podcast and the information I get from it. It’s always such an intelligent conversation about sociopolitical issues going on in the US. But ftlog hire a sound mixer. Every time the host or guests laugh, I jump and have to turn down the volume. It’s SO much louder than the volume of the speaking.

Not sure why it’s taken me this long to start listening to to ABF but this podcast is gold!! Matt is such a great host and the guests are excellent. Thank you for your work!

I highly recommend this podcast. I’ve been going through MB’s episodes in no particular order. Matt’s topics are relevant to everyone, even if you wouldn’t think they are. He keeps a calm demeanor while discussing even the most emotional or infuriating topics, which is impressive. He seems genuinely kind and objective even when describing and discussing the focus characters of his episodes. He’s not out looking for ways to hate on people just to hate. I learn so much from him and his guests and have been asking my kids 17 & 13) to listen to some of the episodes or clips with me. So much information in every episode. The Libs of TikTok information is maddening.

I’ve been looking for a new podcast and I’m so happy I stumbled upon this one! All of Matt’s episodes are well researched and you can tell he puts a lot of effort into each one! All of the topics are super timely and I find myself super engaged with each one!!

Just found this pod recently, and it’s quickly risen to one of my absolute favorite listens. I have gone back to the beginning, and listening to this show has been wonderful. Love this show! Can’t wait to hear every new episode and a refreshing, informative, and detailed take on current events and trends. I do skip certain episodes with a journalist that has proven to be a bully and pick me on Tik Tok, after she started an internet campaign to defend a serial dating gas lighting man and said women were ruining his life for calling him out. I did not even know about her other nauseating and unethical behavior. I can’t take her seriously but I guess I’ll just continue to skip those shows. Sad you give her a platform though.

But I am so glad I did. What a treat, what a dream. I listened to every episode in the matter of a week because I’ve been streaming while I work. Thank you, Matt. Your show is amazing.
