Professional magician by trade and have zero sports experience. I’ve been playing the game for about six months and was lucky enough to find this podcast fairly early on. Your show has been one of the most informative and helpful tools that I have found. Instruction is extremely clear and easy to apply to my drilling as well as rec and tournament games. I recently won gold in both mixed men’s 3.5 and I’m looking forward to now entering 4.0 tournaments, on my way to 4.02 to pro. Looking forward to someday being on the court with you guys as I live in Southern California. May all of your games be magical

I have listened to this podcast since its inception, and I am now listening to the episodes for at least the fourth time. Every time I listen I learn something new. I have implemented many of the strategies into my game and I’ve seen huge improvement. I love how each shot is broken down, and the frank discussion on strengths and weaknesses, and how to improve and excel. Thank you!

I don't listen to a ton of podcast, but I got addicted to this one! Never would have thought someone(s) could verbally discuss the different pickleball shots and strategies and they do just that describing it perfectly so you can visualize it as you listen. This has changed my game play quickly. Thank y’all for doing this show. Helping all of us in our league to talk the same language and get on the same page and elevate our games faster than we would have. 😊

I started listening to this podcast this winter, in my first week of playing. I was maybe a 3.0 (on a good day), but the information was so helpful in improving my game quickly, and helping me avoid pitfalls and bad habits. I am just about at a 4.0 level now, so it is probably time to start listening again from the beginning. Thank you Mike and Scott!

I have learned so much from this show. Have a note in my phone of every shot 1-5 with the specific technique(s) to use and the A/B shot selection. Then double that more of strategic insights, how to do (and defend against) one-off shots like overheads and ATPs, plus what is important to watch for in a ritual kitchen exchange that you can instigate into a firefight. If I hear Michael say ‘stable base’ or Scott talk about when to ‘split step’ one more time, I just might scream ;-) But seriously, this is a gold mine of information that WILL make you a better player, and one that is more fun to play with. Thank you gents!

just wanted to share that this podcast is awesome, very nuanced in describing a dynamic changing variable game that yet manages to talk about the essential elements, positioning of players, positioning of paddles, the mechanics of intensionality of positioning and targeting, and why! as well as the importance of a stable base!

Scott and Micheal do a great job of describing a shot or scenario. I’m generally a visual learner but the way these guys can paint a picture with words is truly amazing. Very helpful advice and I really appreciate the focused topics. I’ve taken many of their tips to the court and they have helped me get so much better. Also I recommend listening to each episode 2 or 3 times just to really let the info sink in.

I love this show. It’s definitely made me a better pickleball player. I really like what they said about on court demeanor and suggestions for drills.

Great strategic thinking.

I started listening to 4.0 to pro last fall as a 3.6 player. 8 months later, I'm now a 4.8 player and I truly attribute most of that growth to this podcast. I have become a cerebral player that can pick apart my opponents using strategies learned from Michael and Scott. I HIGHLY recommend this podcast to anyone looking to improve their game and while also having an entertaining time-filler when you have a spare 20-30 minutes.

Advanced tips that you can apply without getting brain fog. Scott Fliegelman is one of the absolute best coaches in the country. Michael O’Neal is funny, quick and has a different take on things than Scott does at times. Their live interaction in one thing that really makes the show work.

I love that it does one topic at a time

These guys work hard to give clear concise info. I feel like I’m starting to anticipate the answers they give to questions which tells me they are consistent in the info. Thanks to both of you!!!

This is a must listen every week for the pickleball enthusiast. Thoughtful insight and instruction for aspiring higher level pickleball players that want to think about the game and strategize like a pro.

I’m not a 4.0 plus, but with the exception of the stacking episodes, I always come out of these with something to work on. Great work guys!

I agree with some of the comments on their IG feed. Ever since I’ve started listening to this pod during my morning walks, I take what I learn to the courts the next time and put it to use. I’m in the 3.5-3.75 range and shooting for 4.0 and I’m 55! I feel great and thanks to this pod, I continue to grow in pursuit of heading into Sr Singles! It’s like my own secret here locally. I’ll buy a shirt soon then share this amazing resource. Keep it up!

One of the best sports podcasts out there. As a relatively new player with tennis experience, I had no trouble following Scott and Michael’s rhythm of presenting one aspect of the game per podcast. The combination of technical information with tips and personal anecdotes (from the perspectives of a pro and an aspiring pro) is perfect. I shotgunned every episode, and plan on listening again. Mike and Scott are amazing, I do not miss an episode. Coming from a non tennis background, I started PB in July 2023 and was playing advanced by October. I quickly developed an understanding of the game listening to the show. Great job fellas ! And I learned a two ey already, shout out Mike 🙌

Always learn something from these two. They complement each other and get straight to the important stuff. Succinct and clear teaching from Scott and excellent observations from his podcast partner. Scott taught my sons in Boulder, and they improved quickly. Wish we lived closer. Keep up the tight podcast gentlemen. Appreciate your professionalism.

Very actionable tips for any level pickleball learner!

It’s not often that one tip from a podcast can improve your game immediately. The suggestion to hit the third shot to the feet of the receiver (who is moving up to the NVL) did just that. I look forward to what other gems I might find as I explore each episode. Thanks guys.

Great podcast. The format is no-nonsense yet fun and informative for all players. The hosts are super knowledgeable but humble as well. For what is generally considered a ‘visual’ topic, they are excellent describing techniques so listeners can visualize the strategies discussed.

The perfect mix of general chat and more substance. I love how they target their topics and get right to it. Very insightful as well as entertaining.

I appreciate the focus on how to improve my pickleball playing! Some podcasts spend time talking about who won … which is great for people that want pickleball news, though I like focusing on relevant tips and advice.

This is a great podcast. I have improved my technique and strategy by listening to their podcasts, far more than just playing more games. The single technique or strategy is a great concept and their presentation is well thought out and allows me the ability to try to implement it to my practice/game. Keep up the good work!
