One of the podcasts of all time

I am so happy I found this podcast. As a fan of both the games and the show, it has been awesome to find a podcast for both! The format is great and easy to follow. I love the humor, the analysis, & the dynamic between the hosts. Also super appreciative of how they talk about different topics and identities with such respect. Can’t wait to listen to season 2!

Subscribed to you guys when season 1 came out. Haven’t missed an episode since.

The two hosts are both clearly so interested in this series and so full knowledge!! Amazing product!

Super entertaining, really appreciate the no spoiler format. Highly recommend for players of the game and non players. I also love the long format episodes. Please keep going for season 2. And great job!!

A junk podcast ran by self loathing, beta “men.”

I looked forward to this recap every week. Can’t wait for their between season updates now that season 1 ended. This is a must listen podcast if you love the last of us.

Take a drink every time Jacob says, “inter-esting.” Aargh. Otherwise, must-listen podcast.

They are so thorough with their breakdown and bring a lot of context to the show

Jacob and Tom put on a masterclass every week, to the point where I’m looking forward to this podcast more than the actual show. Both are incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful and passionate about the game and show. Can’t recommend this podcast enough. Jacob is a big part of the reason why I know so much about this franchise, and his smooth delivery of insight is paralleled by few. 10/10.

This podcast is a love letter to both the original game and the HBO show, and the ways they intersect, differ and improve upon one another. Tom and Jacob both display a rare level of knowledge and passion for the original game and do an incredible job of catching little things that even I — someone who has beaten the OG game probably close to 10 times — miss, and the implications of those details for both the TV show and the way they’ll remember the game, all without any spoilers for the vast majority of the show (and they provide clear warnings at the end, multiple times, when they are about to end the spoiler-free section). I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough for both game players and people who are just checking in to the show. HBO needs to hire these guys for Season 2.

This is a great podcast that is very informative, especially to a non game player. They do a great job of comparing the game and the show and doing so spoiler free. It’s a perfect listen after watching the episode and you’re itching to get more information about what you just watched. Also Tom is a great dude so you should even listen just to support good people!

I started listening to the show after episode 3, because I just needed MORE. These guys have a vast knowledge of the original game, and they intersperse that info with an extensive review of each episode of the series. They do a fantastic job of comparing the similarities between game and show, and they also point out where the two diverge in narrative or content. They save their spoilers for the very end, and they give you plenty of warning, so this is a safe show for folks who aren’t familiar with the story. A special shout-out, too, for the respectful tone of the show. It’s no secret that there are some issues here (the story of Bill and Frank; Bella Ramsey’s mention of which pronouns she prefers) that fuel certain online types to belch out their toxic views on every forum they can find. These guys have none of that. Their recap of episode 3 was fantastic, and, as gay man myself, I find the ease with which they discussed the main storyline of that episode to have been spot-on and quite refreshing. Kudos all around! Listen to this podcast!

All of my friends love this podcast. Not because they listen to it or even know it exists but because they aren’t prepared to talk to me for 90 minutes of deep dive on every episode. Seriously though, feels like chatting with a couple of friends about the show, highly recommend to anyone looking for that deep dive.

Tom and Jacob do a great job breaking down the episodes in a smart and entertaining way. If you’re going to listen to a companion pod this should be it.

This show provides great context for those who have not played the video game without spoiling future plot points!
