Just listened to convo with Carrie and I can’t believe a complete stranger to me said EXACTLY why I recently left the bedside. I felt so alone and like I was giving up by leaving but after 2 years of trying to “tough it out” but I couldn’t risk my license any longer. The faces of patients still haunts me. The state of healthcare is in a much bigger crisis than “COVID”!

This podcast is so authentic and helpful to our overall health; so MANY great tips for many conditions we all encounter. I love all of the OUT LOUD nurses; you help us take care of ourselves. Nurse April, I’m an 83 year old woman who has been emotionally attracted to straight women since puberty. I say emotionally attracted because sex was not in first place in my mind. As a child my cousin and I would play house, I always had to be the daddy. My story is much longer but to get to the point, I grew up an only child with loving Christian parents. I was never sexually abused. I was interested in what you had to say until you stated your opinion that God would not create someone gay. What about Down syndrome, other mental disorders, cleft palate and other physical disabilities? The stories you told about the sexual abuse of babies was horrific and could cause many disorders. I’m not a nurse or doctor but I believe that some hormonal disfunction during gestation or some brain structure could cause homosexuality. It is definitely a disorder whether by nurture or nature. I don’t believe homosexuality has been studied enough to really know the cause. I enjoy Nurses Out Loud podcasts. Thank you.
