I absolutely love this podcast and your content beyond! Chidera is an educator, every episode is educational. My only concern is how low the audio is, I’m listening now and have it the highest setting on my car. Once the paid ads come in it’s a total shock of difference of volume. I can hardly hear this show in my AirPods. With that being said, I ain’t tryna miss a beat of the slumflower hours teachings.

I’ve been listening to her podcast every night and I’m constantly writing down the things she says. The Slumflower Hour is my new favorite podcast! Only feedback is if you could get a better mic because it’s hard to hear you as the volume is pretty low.

I love this podcast so much but the volume is so low compared to the ads and it’s hard to hear her when I’m on the subway. Can the volume just be bumped up?? Please 😭

This show has helped me to recover from dangerously slow self esteem due to SA. Nothing has reprogrammed my brain more quickly than this podcast, not therapy not traditional religion, NOTHING! Chidera Eggerue is my favorite new dirty little secret…in the best way possible. To say she’s not for everyone would be inaccurate. It’s everyone else who may not be ready for her. As a lifelong feminist who has embodied aspects of what it means to be an empowered woman in the modern world, goddess Eggerue meticulously puts all of the pieces together in one seamless message: you (the woman) are the prize…so act like it. I found myself unexpectedly in the dating scene in my late thirties after a long term relationship and engagement that consumed most of twenties. I was not prepared and my self-esteem was low (making me a prime target for men with ill intentions). I learned a lot of hard lessons after being manipulated, lied to, love bombed and heartbroken. My commitment to my healing journey, self-worth and standards around love and dating lead me to the Slumflower. Listening to her is like chatting with a family member or girlfriend: unsanitized, raw, hilarious and heartfelt. If you have experienced the things she’s talking about, you know that she speaks from a place of wisdom and that it takes balls to tell the truth in the way she does. Chidera Eggerue is a gift to womankind. Thx, girl.

Like Chidera says, this podcast is not for everyone, but if you’re interested in elevating your mindset and how you deal with men, then it’s worth a listen. This podcast has given me some aha moments and I’ve made some big connections with experiences I’ve had in the past relationships with men. Regardless whether I agree with everything she says or not, there’s so much truth in her words and her perspective. I find this show super helpful, thanks girl!

Love this woman, cherish her. Need to buy her book later today. Another review says something about “pick me” behavior - makes zero sense. Everything Chidera talks about (regardless of if you agree) is for women in the pursuit of taking up more space and asking for more. I’ve tried it before.. trying to be a “chill/low maintenance” girl does not get you far. Period.

This episode speaks to my soul! I hate that I didn’t leave sooner. I hate that I allowed this man to manipulate me into that “relationship”.

It seems like you’re still working through some “pick me” stuff, which sort of discounts most of what you say… this seems more like a journal or blog for your own mental health than like being helpful to others? Like idk it’s a whole lot of projection and like stream of consciousness rather than a put together thought out subject? Like I think that style works but only really id you have another person to play off of/have a discussion with about the subject… otherwise…. Again back to it feeling like a journal.

i find it necessary to listen to this before engaging with men. HUNDREDS (if not thousands) of points made here. love how personal experiences are shared as well. and their voice, as well as laugh, is beautiful to listen to!!! you will not be disappointed.

This is the real truth about looking long and hard at yourself and raising your standards to create the life that you say you want. Only listen if you’re ready for that level of accountability and honesty with yourself or else you probably won’t relate unless you’ve done some much needed self reflection. This podcast will nudge you and inspire you to demand more out of men and out of life. That’s what it’s done for me anyways.
