    How much is enough
New Glarus is working with the Tavern League to stomp out any type of online ordering of beer in wisconsin. Do they not have confidence in the quality of their product? Are they delusional and think that people special ordering rare beers from across the world are NOT drinking New Glarus because of this? If NG started making pastry stouts and pickle beers, Id just be buying more NG in addition to the imported stuff. If assembly bill 304 goes through in WI with New Glarus backing, I will replace my Moon Man and R&D purchases with a brand that actually cares about Wisconsinites abilities to access good beer.

Paints a great picture of the brewing landscape
I always enjoy the insights, stories, and discussions on this podcast. Rooted in the idea that beer is an artisanal agricultural product with deep cultural roots but also very broad appeal, this podcast illuminates a new corner of the company or industry with each episode. Dan tells the story of his (and Deb’s) brewery, shares his expertise on different beer styles (and why not all beers need to conform to a style), and explains the supply and distribution chains involved in creating and sharing quality beer. The featured guests are also great; it’s amazing how many different paths can lead people to brewing, and inspiring how many people reinvent themselves to follow a new goal or dream. Not to mention, it gives previews and descriptions of upcoming brews, which always has me circling the calendar for my next visit back home to WI.

    Great Concept
My husband and I had a keg of Spotted Cow at our wedding and a memorable date at New Glarus’ Oktoberfest, so we personally appreciate this brewery. I also feel very lucky to be in the only state where it’s carried. This podcast has been super fun to listen to and to learn the background of Dan and Deb along with beer history and crafting in general. I just wish the host came off more confident and didn’t stumble over his words so much.

    Thanks for the knowledge
Thanks Dan for the show. I love hearing about the history of New Glarus, and his perspective on brewing and ingredients. One suggestion: if your talking about a style like Hef’s or Octoberfest. I would love to hear about the yeast strains that he likes to use. Or what grains he prefers. There are a lot of home brewers and professional type brewers that would interested in that. Thanks

    Less giggling please
Dan is a great speaker, but Scott’s constant giggling makes this podcast hard to listen to.

    Dig deeper please!
A great look into the world of New Glarus Brewing, but wish it went deeper in details from Dan. I was really hoping for a deeper dive into the knowledge and practices a brewer like Dan’s caliber has and employs at his brewery, and not yet another larger craft brewery marketing podcast. I get brewer listeners are probably the minority of listenership, and why would you want to cater to people that live nowhere near the brewery that just want to learn more from the master. I could listen to Dan for hours talk about anything beer and brewing!

I would listen to Dan Carey read the phonebook
Since first becoming aware of New Glarus brewery some 15 years ago, I have been a fan of nearly everything they offer (bring back Old English Porter!) especially their one-offs and their specialty/seasonal beer styles. I had a chance to take a Hard Hat tour 10 or 11 years ago where I got to meet Dan in person at the end. He has always been soft-spoken and humble about the brewery’s success. Seeing him on Wisconsin Foodie was always a treat, but now the masses can hear him wax poetic on this well done podcast. Great beer, made by a great company. Drink Indigenous! Prost

Great podcast for a fan of New Glarus
Great first episode. Really like the mix of information on general beer history (for example explaining where Märzen comes from) and then information about the brewery. Love getting to peak behind the curtain with New Glaurs. Great work!
