The stories are very good, but one of the actors sounds like the roles are being done by an AI. It’s very distracting.

I enjoy paranormal podcasts and have been disappointed with many and then I found this one. What a breath of fresh(and spooky) air! Very well done and enjoyable. Hoping for many more in the future.

I used to listen to this on Spotify and noticed that this podcast just disappeared. After looking through everything i found out is no longer on that service. I decided to stop using Spotify for streaming podcasts and used another service in its place all because of this podcast. Now I'm binge streaming to catch up.

This is my absolute favorite podcast, great storytelling, with excellent production, I love the music, sound effects and the perfectly creepy stories. I listen every night before bedtime, my only complaint is that there aren’t more episodes 🥺

Proper well done. Good editing, great delivery, no silly sleep paralysis stories or ramblings. Nice & tight. On my top 5 list of all podcasts over all genres. Also - who gave this one star? Gotta be a psychopath.

Chris is simply the best story teller. He is also a generous, (sometimes funny) and kind host. They’re Not Shadows is my standard of measure for any other paranormal podcast. I listen to many, love only a few, and Chris rises to the top!

I love this podcast! I was so sad when the creator announced that he was going to a subscription-based format and posting every other week for non-subscribers. I was waiting for it to happen because creators often monetize their efforts once they get a good following, and I can’t blame them for it. Understandable. But then he retracted after realizing that, while he was giving subscribers something extra, he was also taking something away from non-subscribers. I could not believe it. This makes me love the show even more. I love everything about it - the music, the narration, no commercials!

So simple. No “bruh” babble, like you get on other spooky shows. NO ADS. I love this.

Another referral from Jim Harold’s Campfire and I’m thrilled I checked it out. Effective and polished narration, evocative sound effects, wonderful choice of music, all around professionally and intelligently produced. It’s obviously a labor of love by a very talented person. Now I’m searching for a social media presence for the podcast because I want to know more about the show and Chris. My only complaint is I’ve already listened to the backlog of episodes and have to wait a week for the next one! Chris is *Australian* not English though, you silly Americans.

I’ve been blown away by the talent in both the production and story-telling in this podcast. Heard the host tell his own spooky story on Jim Harold’s campfire (listen to that sometimes and this one with my spook-obsessed son), and this one quickly became our favorite. Legit gets so spooky sometimes that I have to pause, which I say is for my 8yo’s sake but it’s mainly bc I’m feeling super spooked. But seriously beyond impressed with the creativity in music and production quality you hear in the background of each different episode and even in the different stories within an episode. This definitely deserves some major attention. I could seriously see awards in this nice guy’s future! Keep it up! Definitely don’t stop bc it’s too good not to be recognized. Btw I studied abroad in Brisbane and Sydney and it’s always been and will be my favorite place on earth!!

The Host is a great story teller. This is a great Podcast. I enjoy how the host gets right into the stories. It is great that there are no commercial interruptions. The background sounds are great. I highly recommend it.

A podcast that isn’t full of inane banter but gets to the point in a well-crafted way. But, selfishly, if you can make it longer (60 minutes???) my commute will be even MORE enjoyable. Thank you for what you do.

If you like creepy and chilling stories of the paranormal, you will love this podcast. Chris has great timing, is a good narrator, has a sense of humor and has fun sound effects. The people who submit these real life ghost stories who send in their stories are good writers too and keep you on the edge of your seat. If you like spooky fun, give it a try! We learned about this podcast from Emma (Real Life Ghost Stories) We started listening and haven’t stopped since. Chris presents the stories giving them a spooky spine chilling effect that keeps the listener hanging to every word! The stories are very spooky and entertaining. Every now and than I come across a podcast that I can’t stop listening too , and this is one of them. Perfect voice, subject matter to go to sleep to. Story telling is a skill and this guy is a professional.

Some times you just want a really great paranormal story and this podcast certainly delivers. Thoroughly enjoy the soundscape, totally adds to the creepiness.

Glad RLGS pointed me in this direction. I really enjoy the stories, although I will say, some of the high pitch sound effects and back ground noise can be a bit offensive to the ears. Other than that tho, love the podcast!

Great referral from the Campfire. Finally, an Englishman who speaks SLOWLY and CLEARLY so I can understand him. Great, spooky stories and love the effects and music. Not dissing Jim for the ads, which I know are necessary, but admit I don’t miss them here. No silly commentary or juvenile jokes like some other podcasts (not you, Jim). No filler here. Highly recommend this one.
