40

The Age Old Question is an insightful and hilarious podcast for the music fan who has ever debated music's unanswerables. Each episode tackles another debate in music fandom ("Is D Minor the saddest of all keys?" "Why do people hate the Eagles?"...). Rich Price and Clint Bierman host and call on friends and experts to help settle them once and for all. Part of Pantheon Podcasts.

Highly recommend this podcast for any and all music enthusiasts
Love this podcast! Waiting for “why the Beatles are the best band ever part 2” I have learned so much from the episodes- love geeking out to music trivia, music theory, and have been exposed to songs and musicians I wouldn’t have known about otherwise.

    Show suggestion
Love the show- have been listening to you for a couple of years now. Moved to Vermont four years ago from Cape Town, where I was part of a social group we called the Red Wine and Loud Music Society. Your podcast is much in keeping with our format of debating “best of” themes in Classic Rock and Blues. I’ve been hoping you would have a show to debate the best double live albums (other than the best by far- Waiting for Columbus).

    Such a fun podcast
This podcast is as fun as it gets Every topic ends up being that weeks discussion w musician friends and my “civilians” friends as well. Thanks guys for letting me in that mythical dorm room or bar to hear your age old questions and join in the fun.

    One of my favorite podcasts
I am not a musician but when this podcast was released, it quickly became one of my favorites. This is my go-to podcast for doing housework and am always amazed how time flies when I am listening. The guys cover interesting topics, have great commentary that keep you engaged, and often I find that I learn something interesting along the way. Keep the new episodes coming!

    Great podcast!
This podcast is delightful. You’ll learn something, you’ll laugh, and you’ll likely get turned on to music you would have otherwise missed. Update: I can’t wait for new episodes and I listen to this show before all others when new episodes come out. Keep it up, guys!

    Great podcast but….
Every once in a while they get things wrong that they really shouldn’t. Example: episode 33 on why classic rock top 500 countdowns vary from year to year and region to region. For some reason they decided to look at the top 10 from WCBS in NYC in 2021, which isn’t a classic rock station, vs. Q104.3, which is NYC’s classic rock station. Kinda drove me crazy. That aside, the podcast is fun and they definitely discuss lots of questions rock fans love to debate.

    Great Podcast
I started listening to this podcast as I am a fan of The Sweet Remains, but I have continued to listen because of the amazing conversations. I am not a musician so many of the topics are new questions for me. I have learned a lot about music from this podcast and in a very easygoing manner. I also like that there is variety of opinions expressed by the people they call in the episodes.

    Insane Production
As an avid fan of mid 90’s hip hop I learned of this pod when a friend told me about the episode on protest songs. I listen to about 2 podcasts a day across all genres and find this one to be one of the better ones regarding the quality of production. The attention to detail these dudes put into editing and producing this pod is extremely impressive.

    A great listen
I like music but never have gone down the rabbit hole like these two do. They do it in a fun and funny way, great listening, intriguing debate. Love the production values too. Can’t wait for more!

Entertaining, educational, what more do you need?
I’m not a musician. Haven’t played an instrument since freshman year in high school. So it’s been since then that I’ve thought critically about some of the technical aspects of music. Clint and Rich are able to educate me without losing me in the intricacies. Every episode is a conversation about something I’m at least somewhat familiar with, but provides a discussion far deeper than I’ve thought about it on my own. Along the ride, I find some laughs and some great recommendations for artists I haven’t heard before. Worth a listen for sure!
