LondonBizOwnerAllergic to truthIs the goal of this podcast to be politically correct and not hurt adult feelings, or is it to actually help vulnerable kids? If it’s to help improve lives of vulnerable kids, let’s tackle the fact that black culture glorifies fathers abandoning kids. Lets not pretend that less foster care in Asian families is due to “underreporting” - it’s due to a culture of shame for a father who abandons his family, which is actually a GOOD thing for kids. Let’s admit that the optimal environment for any child is in the home of their married, loving, biological parents - mother and father. Not two dads. Not two moms. Not a single one of either. With that in mind, let’s focus on ways to incentivise marriage before conception, and actively engaged fathers. In cases when that fails, let’s focus on ways to increase the number of married, successful, not-on-welfare foster families so social workers aren’t choosing between the lesser of two “not-greats” for kids. Let’s focus on how to make sure kids who are on a path to repeating cycles of abuse & incarceration get removed from those places and placed into homes where they can thrive. Sorry - sick of the way child welfare has become so confused that they don’t stop and think, “if this was my niece of nephew living with this person, would I find that acceptable?” If the answer is “no”, it’s not your privilege talking, it’s not your bias - it’s the courage to believe that ALL children deserve the best shot at life, no matter where they came from. A child does not deserve less because of the color of their skin. Stop fighting for political ideologies and start fighting for children.
