I love listening to Mike and Eddy on my runs. I feel like I’m always learning something new about the drums and just enjoy the banter and life updates overall. It’s so great to have access to a couple of real guys who’ve reached a high level with the instrument I love. Hearing the thought processes and common concerns is beyond valuable for anyone looking to progress their own skills.

I love this podcast! I’m a new listener and y’all are very entertaining and I truly appreciate all the information y’all provide. I’ve been drumming for 23 years and I’m glad to know I can still continue to learn. If y’all read this you should check out Oceans Ate Alaska Chris Turner is a fantastic Drummer, also check out Capstan, their drummer is amazing and I was surprised to learn that he plays traditional grip with the style of music they play. I started listening to this podcast because I started teaching drum lessons in 2021. I never wanted to teach drum lessons, because even though I played a lot of drum set through middle school, high school, and college, and know that I am good at it, I’ve never felt like I knew enough to teach other people how to play. Some of that is because I excel more at other percussion instruments (mallets + auxiliary) and some of that is because I am a female and have had to put up with years of getting chosen second or not at all, people assuming my male colleagues play better without even hearing us, and so on. But I got an opportunity to teach at a studio and so I took it. I wanted some resources as I was figuring out my teaching style to draw from, and I happened upon this podcast. I did find a lot of advice about drumming that I have used and synthesized into my own teaching and understanding, but mostly what I found was a podcast about living a creative life, trying to make a business out of it, and everything that comes with it. And at this time of my life, I really really need this because it’s exactly what I’m going through everyday. I am so appreciative of both Mike and Eddy for talking honestly about how hard this path can be sometimes, and I think it’s great how they both have really different approaches to how they accomplish goals and lifestyles. I go back and forth between who I relate to more depending on the topic. Thanks for making this podcast, glad I finally sat down and wrote a review. Have been listening since 2021 and gone through all the episodes. They cover a wide range of drumming-related topics and other areas like preparation, technology, and social media. The dynamic between Mike and Eddy is great, both with years of professional experience. I have listened to other drumming podcast but I feel this in particular resonates with me the most.

This is one of the best podcasts on the market today. Mike and Eddy have been able to take drums and turn them into a positive mental break from the everyday grind of life. Thank you for the great content guys.

Mike and Eddy are what the drum community was missing! It’s a fun and light podcast that goes deep into a wide range of topics. Drumming is such a mental sport, so their insight into all of the different struggles and mental challenges that are part of learning this instrument is most welcomed. Their banter is funny and their knowledge of the industry and the instrument makes this podcast the best of the best. Can’t recommend it enough!

I’ve been a big fan of Mike’s for a few years and then they made a podcast! Their conversations are great and I appreciate the categories so that it’s easier to go back and listen later. A little insider information and encouragement never hurt!

It’s been a minute to get caught up, as I’ve been late to the party, but after binge listening 20 episodes in 4 days, I’m finally up to speed. I so appreciate the inside look and banter between fellow drummers. The podcast touches on true issues between fellow drummers, and perfect life hacks for the best way to approach and concur the issues of today’s drummers

I have an hour drive to work. I decided to jump the gun and take a listen to this. Best choice I ever made. This podcast gives me that coffee pump up I need in the mornings and the relaxing massage I need to wind down in the evenings. I’ve played metal most of my life, so hearing two different style drummers complete opposite is perfect. You need to take a listen to this.

I’m only a few episodes in, and just like it. I really liked Mike from MD podcast and was a little bummed to see he wasn’t there anymore. Anyway, I like how the several episodes have taken an approach to life as a drummer, and talk about what it’s really like to be a drummer trying to be in the profession, and even how they approach topics not necessarily about drumming from a drummers point of view. Got a lot today from the Motivation topic that will apply to more than just playing drums. Anyway, good podcast.

In one podcast a listener can get a technical, deep-dive into drumming and its industry but also the introspective, honest support one needs to really capture what this instrument is about. Both Mike and Eddy are captivating speakers, each in their unique way, and are easy and enjoyable to listen. And, the tangents make each episode so fun and give insight into the real depth of knowledge these two have. The best part about this podcast is everything they discuss can be applied to a life fully realized. It’s good for the brain AND heart!

Getting me through a tough time & keeping me inspired.

Simply put, there are not enough words to describe the incredible forces of inspiration and support projected throughout this podcast. As a self taught drummer of 14 years I've found myself at a plateau over recent months. It has made me question what the drums really are to me. Between Mikes lessons online, and this Podcast, I have found a new passion and a long term path for my journey on the drums. Mike and Eddy speak openly and shamelessly about their own endeavors throughout their drum careers. Talking about the highs and lows of where this instrument can take you, and backing it with the most positive of attitudes that reinforces the notion “Yes, you can do this!”. This podcast is just oozing with life lessons and powerful inspirational moments that are second to none. I have to personally thank them both for their commitment to not only the drums as an instrument, but to the whole of the drum world and it’s community. Top notch guys, keep them coming!

Always look forward to this podcast. It’s real talk, no sponsorship cash grab. Eddy is a great counter weight to Mike in a good way. They play well off each other and really feels like it is just a discussion between buds. Even if they go off on tangents (probably my favorite bits to be honest) it always has a point. Super inspirational with focus on helping guys and gals get better. The best part, you don’t have to play drums to get something out of this. Insert whatever your passion is for drums and boom. And lastly they always have, at least for me, have some sort of profound quote that really changes the way one looks at things. Check it out hope you enjoy it as much as I have.

Full of helpful advice and inspiration for both life and drumming, This will be a “must listen “ weekly podcast of mine. I was a weekly listener to Mikes former podcast. This one is a different format but Im finding it compelling and entertaining too. I’m looking forward to watching the relationship between Eddy and Mike grow and how they will interact with each other.

I take lessons at mikeslessons.com and the reason for that was that he was very passionate about teaching. I found the podcast through social media from his members page so I though I would listen and it is amazing! Loved the podcast. The Haters episode is so appropriate for the current time. It is such an important topic and presented in a real and comfortable conversation. So much hate these days, love the advice of hating back. Such a simple and insightful solution.

As an aspiring touring/session drummer, this podcast couldn’t have come a better point in time. Lately, I’ve been feeling highly unmotivated to play the drums because of real-life scenarios such as Covid-19 shutting down my first tour ever, graduating college, and figuring out what the future has in store for me. From literally episode one, I knew this podcast is exactly what I needed to reinvigorate my passion for drumming. Hearing Mike and Eddy talk about their experiences have really opened my eyes to what can be done, not just behind the drums, but in my everyday life.
