    Bright Eyes season is great
I am a longtime Conor Oberst fan that has fallen out in the last few years due to aging and other musical interests. These episodes, especially this ones leading up to Cassadega brought me back to my late teens and early twenties. Great to hear other Saddle Crewk alums talk about the old days and to see the curtain pulled back a bit. I am also a Jackson Browne fan and willing be looking into that season soon.

    Against Me! Season
The versatility Justin shows on this Podcast is spectacular and creative on his part. The similarities between Jackson Brown and Laura Jane Grace seem miles apart unless you’re a huge fan of both of them like me. In that case, doing separate seasons on both of them makes perfect sense. The AM! season was one of the best things I’ve seen or listened to in a long time. The guests were up to date on Laura Jane Grace and Against Me! and literally experts on the album they were covering as was Justin. The final episode with Laura was the best! Laura was so open and honest about everything and I wanted to be in that conversation so badly. Looking forward to see what Justin comes up with for season four!

    Against Me!
Great season on AM! discography. Love the variety of interviews, culminating with Laura Jane Grace. Thanks for the impressive work.

Deep dives on favs that are sometimes mine
Great interviews with tried and true artists, journalists, and their friends and well wishers. Not every artist is my personal favorite (but a couple are). And the ones that aren’t are soon becoming regulars on my playlist because of the smart questions and thorough interviews. Always great to listen to, and a good reminder to dive deeper on those I've loved, and those I am discovering. Even though I am an awful pedant, and disagree with the majority of Justin’s opinions. 5 out of 5.

    Engrossing, Thoughtful Music Discussions
An excellent podcast for anyone who loves deep dive conversations about music both from the listener perspective as well as the musician's. Great host and production. Love it.

This guy couldn't possibly use the word "like" one more time than he did. Every sentence contained multiples. Dude, please, that gets SO monotonous.

    Really fun
I have really enjoyed taking a deep dive into the work of one of my favorites, Bright Eyes. I appreciate that this podcast keeps it classy and avoids all the gossipy junk that gets associated with Oberst. Also, I like the music snippets! Some of the songs I hadn’t heard, so it was nice to have the context built in without having to pause and go find the song. Thanks, Justin! I’ll be listening to the Jackson Browne next!

    Great job
A little harsh criticism but if I'm listening to this podcast I am a hardcore Bright Eyes fan. I do not need a snippet of a Conor song in between an in-depth interview. It takes away from the flow of the conversation.

    Awesomeness
Great interviews with the people who were there, discussing my fave band Bright Eyes! Can't wait to see where it goes! Honestly Jackson Browne was never my thing, but who knows...

    You got Jackson’s respect! Wonderful!
It says a lot that Jackson came on your podcast. I had been enjoying your episodes but really never expected you would have Jackson on. Great job!

Very satisfying; and cool to get a Millennial perspective
As a fellow Millennial, I appreciated connecting with Justin — and more deeply with the music of Jackson Browne — through this podcast. It takes on a similar vibe as a Jackson Browne song — intimate, personal, in-depth, introspective — to the extent that you can't help but feel a personal connection to the host, his guests, and Jackson Browne. This podcast reminds me that being a JB fan is a special thing. And it's wonderful to share in these conversations about these albums I love so much. But I appreciate that it's not all appreciation — there's real critical analysis here that gives the podcast its weight, and makes it go beyond mere praise. I appreciate that Justin frames up many episodes by reading a Rolling Stone review. And I mention the Millennial-ness because it's uncommon to meet die-hard JB fans in our generation — but this podcast reminds me that we're out there. It reminds me that JB is one of the greatest songwriters of his generation, but he's for all of us. Thank you Justin, and thank you everyone who's participated in this.

    A no calorie treat!
I absolutely loved this podcast and binged every episode after knee surgery. Justin does a phenomenal job, deep-diving into each album with his unique perspective as a much younger (than typical) fan. I’ve been a fan since I was the same age he was when JB played in his parents house, only much longer! My intro happened in the back seat of the family car when DME came on and I thought “this is my music”. Thanks to Justin for this very fine podcast.

    Enraptured
Just so informative. My first JB show was at The Main Point. I’ve been enjoying him ever since. I can’t pick “the” favorite song. It’s like picking a favorite child. I actually went by myself to see him in Columbia, Maryland. He recorded the live version of Running on Empty that night. If my memory serves me well. In ‘65 I was 17!!! Too funny.

    Love it!
So glad I stumbled onto this podcast celebrating one of my all-time faves. I’m loving the Rolling Stone reviews at the start of each episode and enjoying hearing a different perspective from host and guests on the songs.

    Stick with it
This podcast series takes a while to get started but hits its stride in Episode 5, Running on Empty with Holly Gleason. Justin Cox and the early guests are second generation Jackson aficionados so longtime fans will sometimes find themselves saying “Really - you didn’t know that?” and “No, that isn’t quite right.” Re: Late for the Sky - I remember watching Taxi Driver in a small 3-screen multiplex in my hometown when suddenly Late for the Sky started playing. Jackson had written Take it Easy, been involved with Eagles and had some modest hits but Jackson was still this kind of mysterious, culty folk-rock figure. I felt a bittersweet pang that he was achieving recognition and success, but now ”everyone” would know about him.

    Celebrating JB!
Thank you for taking the time to create this podcast. The hardcore fans like myself have had Jackson’s music playing as the soundtrack of our lives since the 70’s. I first saw him at the Shrine In November of ‘76 (where he closed with The Pretender on the piano) & he’s been my favorite artist ever since.

    Superb content
I have really enjoyed you and your guest breaking down each album as a whole , and each song seperstely. You’ve given me a broader perspective of the lyrics. I’ll listen to these albums in a whole different way now. Thank you!

    Could be a Generational Thing
First of all, I have so enjoyed this series thus far and was excited to hear how people much younger than me experience JB’s music. It was with much anticipation that I waited for this episode. While some of your guest’s comments were interesting from a music critics standpoint, the episode let me down. Maybe I was expecting to gain a better sense of the time period that Jackson wrote this music, the Laurel Canyon scene, and the musicians, of which there were many, that contributed on this album. There is a point in The Late Show where I can hear the distinctive sound of the Eagles and Dan Fogelberg in the harmonies. I think because I have such a personal connection to these songs it is hard to hear someone talk about them in a more sterile way. Nonetheless, I appreciate you bringing this music to a broader audience and I look forward to the rest of the series. Mahalo!
