Martin ODExcellentGreat episodes and highly educational and entertaining

Jumpy JohnnyMy Latest FavoriteOutstanding stuff. My only quibble is the use of allegedly humorous regional dialects used to quote various Pommies. Often sounds like the blokes are gargling marbles. It seems to amuse these 2 guys but I’m lost.
-
tmac1492Wankers!Great to hear about these historical events/sights from the people who were there!

Piper PutteeWhy so serious?I really enjoy the subjects of the podcast; however, I just can’t put up with Peter Hart’s unceasing attempts to be funny. Gary Bain is great but I often wonder if he tires of being Hart’s straight man as well as the only one of the duo that endeavors to keep each episode on course. Hart’s humor is inappropriate at times and frequently sophomoric, if not downright juvenile. I expected more of him based on his career and expertise. I am not a prude and enjoy a good joke, but this is too much to put up with. And for Peter’s sake, stop the accents!

pwomack12‘Bebuggered’This has been a great joy to hear these two blokes go on about the topics at hand! It reminds me of my days in England at the pub…arguments and poking fun, but all in good spirit! I always look forward to hearing Pete and Gary, and I always come away having learned something new! Also, my favorite technical term: ‘bebuggered’ I hope to hear this more!

Banana farmOne of my favoritesCan’t tell you how much I love the show ! Love the fact I can learn so much about some of the best topics of military history, but also get some laughs along the way. Very knowledgeable, very comprehensive, and very easy to follow. Cheers!

Paul from Midland, MichiganCracking Good Show!!!Pete and Gary cover all the subjects one would want to hear from a military history podcast, with a major focus being the First World War. They extensively rely on primary sources, reading quotes and using spot-on accents to describe history’s most interesting military engagements. Pete apparently worked at The Imperial War Museum forever, and Gary was in the British military, forever... so these guys KNOW what they’re talking about. Keep in mind they’re British, and they focus mostly on British military history... but that’s the best thing! My favorite episodes are The Battles of Coronel and The Falklands, Waterloo(2 episodes), and Isandlwanda and Rourke’s Drift. And they have many episodes on The Somme and Gallipoli. I highly, highly recommend this podcast!!!

Brian1-428GreatIt’s refreshing to find a podcast with very knowledgeable hosts, who also do not take themselves seriously with their noise pointed in the air. Peter and Gary are the type of hosts you could see yourself having a beer with. They also tell stories through the eyes of the people who lived it instead of telling you how you should feel about a specific event. Highly Recommended

Jim Russell from BellwoodPeter Hart’s Military HistoryPeter, Gary and Fred a fine body of men. I thoroughly enjoy the banter and the detailed research Peter and Gary bring to their episodes. Please keep up the good work and don’t pay attention to this naysaying wankers. Yank in New Mexico

D Robs123Great podcast !!Look forward to this podcast every week. Peter and Gary’s love and knowledge of history really shines through in every episode. Full of great information, stories and first person accounts. Also really like the playful banter between Gary and Peter which I feel makes this podcast so much fun. A must listen military history podcast.

vietnam1603Love this show!Peter and Gary are lovely and definitely not a pair of mean, twisted, and bitter wankers.
-
klewevTrue joyEvery single time I hear Gary and Brian chat I become excited because I find it so entertaining to watch two British men argue about things they agree on, I also learned my new favorite phrase from them “as good as a blind mans painting”
-
dallasdefenseWow, the ArroganceNot sure if it’s Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dum, but wow to listen to this guy surprised the English ever lost a battle. All others are second rate. The facts and stories are great. The arrogance is a big turn off and totally unnecessary.
-
northernhillbillyThese blokes are brilliantPeter and Gary’s love of history shines. The stories from the soldiers make it all real.

ThedaywerevoltPeter and Gary Bring the History-Nerd JoyI have not read a lot of Peter Hart’s books, but I did enjoy what I read. I first learned of him through Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History podcast and immediately picked up The Great War. Excellent stuff. What I am most enthusiastic about is the fact that Peter and Gary crack me up. Most historians don’t have the type of high-energy and sense of humor I have witnessed through this podcast. There’s a handful of historical moments that I will remember from these podcasts thanks to the jokes cracked at the moment’s expense. Keep it up. I will agree with a previous review that you gents need to ensure your audio is managed properly. There were some oddities in two of the episodes I’ve listened to. Outside of that, the content makes up for it and I’m glad you have started podcasting. Please keep it up. Thank you!

relz242Love it so farOnly feedback I’d provide is the audio is a bit low in volume and not clear. Especially on the V Beach episode.

Cullen@theCauldronHart Can Do It All!One of the best military historians going is now in the podcasting game and I can’t be more excited. Having used Mr. Hart's writings as source materials for my own show I can attest to the man's passion and knowledge for the subject. Keep up the great work, can't wait to see what comes next!
