Josephine, a pediatrician, is pretty unlucky romantically. With a little coaxing from her best friend Katrina, Josephine starts a relationship with Malik, an ophthalmologist that works in the office across the hall from hers. Malik is exactly what Josephine needs, but she doesn't quite realize it...yet.

    Super
Great story, I hope you create more. It’s nice listening to light hearted Rom-Coms, there is so much true crime out there!!

    Really fun
Really enjoyed this story. It was light and fun.

    Solid romantic comedy
Solid romantic comedy, though a little light on the comedy, that makes an overall fun listen. Great voice acting and solid plot but a few more laughs would have helped. Overall, nice listen for those looking for a little romance in their podcast feed.

    Cute, BUT
This was a cute show I enjoyed listening to. Based on the show itself, I would give it 4-5 stars. BUT, I had subscribed to many Realm podcasts, and I do not enjoy that they run preview episodes for new shows constantly on all of their shows, regardless of if they are even from a similar genre or type of story. If they were similar genre’s and types of stories, I would not mind. I would love to hear about a story that is similar to a shoe I like already. I do not want the same episode popping up multiple times in my podcast feed, especially when it’s a completely different type of story. This unfortunately has earned an unsubscribe across all the Realm podcasts I subscribe to after getting tired of this happening every week.

Exactly what I was looking for
I wanted to listen to a goofy, fiction story made by Black creatives and I was lead here. This story is very light hearted and easy to listen to. Loved it!

    Great show
I really enjoyed this podcast. It’s about real life issues in a relationship. The only problem is that it’s 7 episodes.

    Big Favorite!
We need more Audio Dramas like this … real people doing real things in today’s real world! The characters are very appealing, and the setting has fun local touches that expand it well beyond your headphones. All the action is easy to follow, the voices are distinct, there’s plenty of unforced humor and there’s definitely enough plot to keep you engaged beginning to end. A bright, positive story like this can be a great treat and mental reset. Plus the story is finished so you don’t have to wait for more episodes. Observer Pictures is doing exceptional work in Audio!

    An instant favorite
I listened to this show when it first came out and loved it, and a recent re-listen just solidified its place in my top podcasts. It’s warm, funny, delightful, and an all-around quality production with an excellent cast. A comfort listen that I will return to many times over!

    A Delightful Ride
A wonderful, delightful, and grounded romcom that builds its plot and appeal on the strength of its characters.

    ❤️❤️❤️
I love a good romcom, and this is a GOOD romcom. Touching, sweet, just the right level of character complexity to make things interesting, loving friendships as well as romance, and food. It doesn’t get any better.

    Meh
I saw another reviewer say “a show for us by us,” the artwork shows two Black or Brown people, so I gave it a try. The main character’s voice missed the mark for me. Then I looked up the character’s insta profile and it all made sense. Mehhh.

    Nice
Nice to hear a story of love for us by us.

Awesome for those new to podcasts
Listening to the story was my first “real” podcast experience and I loved it. I learned of it through a recommendation list and the name immediately caught my attention. I really enjoyed Jo and Malik’s love story.

    Fun, Funny, Smart
I loved everything about this show. It's everything you could want out of a sweet, romantic comedy. It's cute, it's fun, it'll make you laugh. It's a great time!

    Will Make You Smile
This was a fun, cute and entertaining story. Definitely will make you smile — something that’s been incredibly hard to do in these awful, turbulent times. The production and acting were all excellent. In my opinion Malik is still a “unicorn” to the end.... We sure need some more Maliks in this world, don’t we ladies?!!

    Short and sweet
This was a cute, simple love story and I was content to leave it at that because I wanted something happy but the last few episodes brought in some very real issues that are often glossed over in rom coms. Excellent work!

    Don’t Stop!
I’m saying pretty much what others are saying. Love this show! It’s light, funny, and heart warming. Thank you!

    Easy listen!
Saw this recommended on the NYT and needed an easy listen while self isolating! Listened to it all while cooking one afternoon. Enjoyable but a little predictable. I’d listen to a season two!

    Margaritas and donuts
I loved this podcast! Just saw it on NYTImes recommendation list. I am so sad that it is done. What a great story and production. The actors brought the story to life. I want more!!!

    Delightful and delicious!
LOVE, love (did I say LOVE) this podcast! How fortunate to find such a gem. The NewYork Times wrote an article today "Fiction Podcasts to Get Lost In" and after reading all the recommondations, the title "Margaritas & Donuts" caught my eye. Currently listening to episode 3 and NEVER want this magic to end. THANK YOU to everyone involved in creating this magic!

    First Time for Everything
This was my first fiction podcast and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. This story reminds me of black fiction novels in the 90s...Terry McMillan, Bebe Moore Campbell, Eric Jerome Dickey. The story is relevant. I certainly related to Jo and this even has me considering getting back in the game, lol. I hope there is more to come! Loved it!

Great Writing, Voice Acting & Energy!
I rarely leave reviews (other than the stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️), but this series was soooo good! I’m a fan of Observer Pictures, but this was my favorite so far! Its a type of audio drama I hadn’t listened to yet, and I loved every minute of it. Keep up the awesome work!

Love love love!! Such a nice change of pace from always listening to serial killer true crime podcasts lol. I get so excited when I see a new episode is available. I’m getting attached to these characters. But even seeing how I myself do the same things as Jo. 🤦‍♀️ Love this show ladies!!

    Well rounded
This podcast has been a pleasant surprise to me already. It has strong female leads while also nut walking all over masculine characters. Instead it seems to celebrate the qualities of good men while letting woman be on equal footing. Another treat was the diversity in casting. As an African American it's nice to see. This company produces great things.
