It sounded like you started watching Baki with the Netflix seasons, I’d highly recommend going back and watching the first 48 episodes. Starting from the Netflix series is like starting Naruto from Shippuden. Many of the questions you were asking are answered in the first 2 seasons.

I started listening to this podcast after my boyfriend kept talking me ear off about anime, and I wanted to get in the loop about the shows he was watching. Every episode is so great and it’s fun to listen to. I can’t believe I never started watching anime sooner. This is a great podcast to listen to if you are just starting out in the genre or if you already love it.

I heard about these guys from the Anime Summit podcast and have been really impressed so far. I like that they talk about a blend of seasonal and non seasonal shows. In only about 30 episodes I can already see the improvement on hosting and more in-depth content. Each episode has just gotten better for me so I’m excited to see how this develops.

Let’s just say if you don’t listen to this cast you are super missing out. I’m a deep anime fan and try to watch every new show that comes out. Ricky and Ethan are topical and really know what stuff is weebs want to hear. Audio quality top notch, host chemistry is high, and ease of listening is also high even if you haven’t seen the shows they are talking about. Check it out!

Before listening to this podcast I had only watched a few shows like Full metal alchemist, gundam, trigun, Dragonball. This has rekindled my love for anime and I love Ethan and Ricky's chemistry on mic. They totally get my sense of humor and we feel like friends already! 5/5 would recommend!

You can usually tell if a podcast is quality after a few episodes, but here it's apparent after the first one. Ethan and Ricky have a clear passion for anime but expound upon the minutia in a way that can reach even the most casual of anime fans. Their style is welcoming and holistic but funny, and their personalities come through quite clearly. Can't wait until they do a Pokemon episode.
