A Podcast Of Unnecessary Detail

180

Looking for a science comedy podcast that doesn't skimp on the details? We've got you. Join us once a month as three different science stories are dissected every month by the trio behind comedy phenomenon Festival of the Spoken Nerd.

Stand-up mathematician Matt Parker, experiments maestro Steve Mould and geek songstress Helen Arney are experts at investigating things that might not seem particularly interesting on the surface, but become fascinating when you get down to the nitty and / or gritty.

Check out festivalofthespokennerd.com/tickets for details of our live shows in the UK and streamed across the world.

    A true joy
This podcast is fun and educational in the best way possible. I’m so glad it’s back for a third season.

    It’s fine
It’s ok but the voices are hard to listen for a long time

Love this gives me cool facts
This podcast is amazing. The amount of info presented is perfect. A deep dive that is manageable for the topics given. I laugh a lot and get to embrace my true inner nerd. So glad it’s back for season 3. I was hoping they would get this going again

    Miss this Podcast
I have been re-listening to the podcast because I just miss it. I have even gone retro buying the Festival of ten Spoken Nerd live shows just to get more. The chemistry and geeky/nerdy nature of the show hits all the right notes.

A very specific kind of entertainment
I get warm feelings when I listen to these three humans talk. Top notch entertainment for anyone who wants to expand their understanding of the world, indeed, the universe. Helen, Matt and Steve are a gift to the English speaking world. I can only hope that other languages have their own trios of nerdy edutainers. May 2022.

    Absolutely love it
This podcast is so unnecessary, but so much details!

    Amazing Podcast!!!
I just can’t get enough of this podcast! It may say the detail is unnecessary, but I think it’s just right, and their nerd jokes are top notch hilarity.

    Perfect just perfect
Someone shared this podcast on twitter and I’ve been listening to it during ramadan and in all and absolute honesty I have been having a blast, this is one of the absolute best shows I’ve heard ever, and will 100% recommend to anyone who might so much hint about wanting new podcast shows thank you so much for the company and the unnecessary details 🧡

    Fascinating, educational and funny!
All the things I want from a podcast are here in full force: eclectic and interesting science, some levity and jokes sprinkled in, and some great tangents that I personally enjoyed greatly! I particularly like the overlap of these individuals experience and knowledge, very satisfying and quite well rounded discussions because of it! More please!

For the nerd in all of us
Simply put, this is one of the most entertaining and informative podcasts on math, science, and technology out there. Every episode each of the hosts presents a different aspect of a single theme, and every time I’ve come away with a new appreciation of how the universe works.

2 of my favorite Nerds and one new one
I’ve seen loads of educational YouTube content featuring Matt and Steve. I am delighted to be introduced to Helen.

    Transmission?!? No, Dispersal
I absolutely love the podcast. It’s great to listen to extraneous information while on the road or otherwise engaged. However, Steve, I would argue that seeds are dispersed or they are transported but using the word transmission seems quite a bit of a stretch. Ha ha,Keep the details coming

This quickly became my favorite podcast. You know how good conversation passes the time quickly? That’s how it feels listening to this. I’m very grateful for this FIRSTT run, excited for more, and happy with the suggested podcasts!

    Great brain candy
“Come for the unnecessary detail and stay for the “a podcast of”” -Matt Parker. Matt, Steve, and Helen offer great banter and stimulating information. I feel like I understand things to a much better level and really grasp the nuance. Great job!

    Entertaining & Interesting
A trio of nerdy fun people... I know it’s a bit redundant to say nerdy and fun. If you just thought “good point”, this is definitely a podcast you’ll enjoy. If you laughed at the thought of nerdy and fun being synonyms, then you’ll enjoy the self deprecating humor... you did just say you were laughing at your own thoughts...🤷🏻‍♂️😅

    Excellent detail…
…but a few too many complaints about it! I would like to see more complaints when the detail is insufficiently unecessary!

The best MSM - Math, Science and Music
Always enjoyed their radio shows, stage shows, and individual YouTubings, so I’ve been waiting for this for a while. Not disappointed. Less superficial compared to other science shows often are, and much better for it. Details necessary and unnecessary.

    As good as you’d hope!
I love these folks on YouTube, and the podcast doesn’t disappoint!
