Coyote Trapping School Podcast

181

Kris Pope, from Coyote Trapping School, provides instruction and educational content for people interested in getting started, or getting better, at trapping furbearers and predators. Many people consider trapping a dying art, but there is still plenty of interest whether from outdoorsmen and women who are looking to further their outdoor skills, wildlife managers looking to enhance game populations through predator control, or survivalists interesting in knowing how to obtain food and fur in a survival situation. Follow along as Kris gives trapping industry updates, instructional information, and updates on his wintertime trapline. With a wide array of experience, from trapping artic foxes in Alaska to alligators in Florida, and a degree in wildlife biology, Kris’ passion lies in wildlife management and matching wits with wild critters near and far.

    Horrible
I can’t believe anyone would listen to the trapping and torturing of these innocent animals that die a slow death.
  • loFiGirl
    Horrific Cruelty
It is incomprehensible to me that in this day and age there are people prompt the barbaric act of trapping animals. This podcast is a trove of cruelty, horrible suffering and death. Trapping should be outlawed. Over 80 countries have outlawed trapping, time for the u.S. to step up and BAN it. This podcast is sickening to hear.

    Great Resourse
Been listening during a long drive. Being new to the sport, it’s good to know and hear what I’m doing right and wrong. I would interested to learn more about what you know about the behavior and patterns of the coyote. The home range podcast, started to touch on it, but would like to hear more. Any input?

    Great Podcast
Great podcast! Lots of good trapping specific info for the new trapper. There’s always lots of little tidbits of info that make you stop and say to yourself, “yeah, that’s exactly what I was thinking too.” Kris’s podcast is like listening to a long time friend sharing what they know and their opinions on trapping and related topics.

Helped me catch my first and second coyote on back to back days
I’ve watched most of Kris’s videos on YT and I’ve been listening to his podcast trying to learn how to catch the illusive coyotes. Pay attention to what he says and you will start to be successful. I was able to catch my first coyote on this past Thursday and then caught my second on Friday. I credit Kris with a large part of that success because of all the knowledge he has provided with this podcast. Top notch material here.

    Keep it up
Thank you, for an awesome podcast. It is the only one I can find on I tunes based in the south east. Hearing about the northern guys and gals are good but it is a whole new ball game when we cross the mason Dixon line. Keep up the good work!!!

    Wealth of information
First time trapping and wow am I doing things wrong. I will definitely be taking the coyote Trapping School soon. It’s definitely different in northern MN with the frost 4 feet deep and snow but the information is priceless. I haven’t caught a coyote yet but had one miss. It must have pulled out of the trap. Had a catch circle and a toenail in the jaws. Oh well maybe next time. Thanks again for your willingness to share so much!! Dan K

    Great Informative Podcast!
I am new to trapping and am trying to learn all that I can. I really appreciate all of the great and practical knowledge that you share with your listeners. Living in Tennessee, there isn’t a lot of trapping information that I can find that is geared to people who live in the South, so I appreciate your podcast and you taking your time to explain the ways and reasons behind how you trap. Keep up the great work!

You’ve Helped This New Trapper A lot!
At 32 years old I’m trapping for the first time ever and need all the help I can get. You keep things really simple and if something is more elaborate, you break it down to make it easy to understand. You’ve got me real interested and fired up about trapping coyotes, which is not something I was considering prior to hearing you talk and teach. Your beaver trapping tips helped me get my first beaver last week. Thanks for all that you do. If I have any suggestion it would be to make your shows longer...we enjoy listening! -Chris, Western NC
