She’s partnered with the whole team at Old Pros to create an accessible and entertaining resource for anyone who wants to learn more about sex workers and our place in history.https://oldprosonline.org/the-oldest-profession-podcast

    Love it
Love the topics, love the support, love the community. I wish that Bailey would go back and rerecord some of the earliest episodes, because I feel like a lot of material got glossed over and I would learn more from a redo.

    Good Podcast
First episode I heard was Pamela Digby Churchill Hayward Harriman. Hats off for doing this cunning & interesting woman a place. She may have been one of Truman’s Swans, but she stood out. What other swan had such power as to have a Eulogy by Bill Clinton? Far & Few women define this profession, Pamela outdid her own self. Great Awareness podcast

    Informative!
While I do hope that women do anything but the oldest trick in the book because we all have value beyond being sexual things for men I appreciate this informative podcast. I agree that sex worker rights are important and will be even more so as abortion is restricted because women who still believe in free love, despite all of the patriarchal hurdles in the way of the freedom to enjoy it, will be less willing to participate in sexual relations. I don’t believe sex work is good for society however as men are prone to treat us as sexual objects whether we are for sake or not and human trafficking is an issue. Plus it’s obviously something poor women are forced to do to survive but that ties into why it’s important that sex worker rights be created and maintained. This cause is virtuous for the unfortunate reality that these women must endure but ideally there would be no such thing as the oldest trick in the book. ❤️

    Ramones
Hello all, May this blurb find you doing more than well. The first show I listened to on your podcast was the Dee Dee Ramone episode. I was extremely impressed at your knowledge of the band and how you got the story right. As a band that changed my life in a very positive way (in my mind) I certainly appreciate it. May you continue to rock on with your bad selves and continue doing what you’re doing in good health and love. Thanks again friends. Stay well. Love the podcast! J-Haint /Sonic Haints

    Awesome show
I got your name from your interview with Pantsuit Politics. So glad I took the recommendation. This should be required listening to all anti-abortion politicians

Good mix of history and current events
I stumbled upon this podcast via Pantsuit Politics and just binged all episodes on Jack the Ripers victims. I really enjoyed the mix of history and current events. Without knowledge of the past it’s hard to understand why laws and stereotypes are the way they are today!

    Whxres I love
As a sexworker & podcaster myself I LOVEEE this podcast. Thank you so much for the work y’all put into each episode. I learn so much ! Shout out to your historian 👏🏽

    Fascinating
As a history buff and ally of sex workers I absolutely love this podcast. I am a recent arrival to the show and have been binge listening. Thank you for the work you do as an advocate and story teller, I have already learned so much.

Amazing historical accounts of those who have come before us!
Well told stories of those who have come before us can be a guide for the future. This particular story comes from an era where things were tough, not unlike they still are. I love that there was a passionate researcher, who is willing to uncover truth, no matter where it took her.

Did they delete some old episodes?
I feel like I’m going crazy- I was researching Maya Angelou and listened to two episodes by this podcast- one from 2017 and one from 2021- and now for some reason the earlier episode seems to have vanished. It’s nowhere to be found. Have they deleted some of the older episodes?

    Witty, informative, and relevant
I love this podcast and always look forward to new episodes. The history is told in and engaging way that ties the past to the present. This show is about much more than the oldest profession…it’s about the status of sex and women in society.

    GREAT podcast - enlightening
I really enjoy this podcast. It’s always a slice of history I hadn’t heard of or considered before. It reminds me of the unseen forces that change our society. It’s also funny and entertaining. Total package.

Incredible context around sex & feminine power in our culture
I have gained so much from this brilliant podcast. I just finished listening to the series on Lilith, and my mind is blown. I’m going to be thinking about your brilliant commentary on Lilith, her story, and the way our culture treats feminine power for a long time.
  • FluffySnuggles
    Important!
Informative and funny. Give this a listen.

So important, incredible, and informative. Can’t recommend highly enough. Love y’all
  • JerahP
    Yes!
This series on Lilith is fascinating and so helpful for me as someone raised in a strict Christian/Jewish environment. Thank you so much for making not only this but all your other great work as well.
  • Srdr946
    Fascinating
A lot of the content used to go way over my head but the more I listen the more I understand, learn and can be entertained.

Feminism isn’t intersectional if sex workers aren’t at the table
I adore this podcast. I learn so much and the history gives me hope in difficult times. I laugh out loud too! Y’all have taught me so much and I aspire to be an ally/accomplice to sex workers.
  • Fiddleeye
    Really important work
The first episode of the new season that included the take down of SWERFs was great, more of this please.

    This Pod is EVERYTHING
OMG I love this pod! It's so niche, but so accessible! Kaytlin has so much knowledge to share and is so entertaining to listen to. I've learned so much from listening, laughed out loud, and teared up at times. I can't wait for more!

    Eye-opening and entertaining
Great podcast. Entertaining, smart, informative, on a topic I’m ashamed to say was mostly off my radar and largely misunderstood. It has been eye-opening getting insights on the choices made by sex workers and the agency they have in what in many cases is a rational path to economic independence and not strictly exploitative or victimizing.
  • Jwhimbu1
    You got something good but...
I love learning about sex work and sex workers, BUT after listening to multiple episodes, I quickly realized that the hosts are spending too much time talking about themselves and not the topic, which is a bummer.
  • Dagny102
Where has this BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE
I only wish I had found this the second y’all started this show because it’s like a bandaid on my slutty soul
  • myannabellelee

    My New Favourite Podcast
I LOVE getting to be regularly inspired by these ladies and their stories of other pros like me! A friend who was really struggling with their career and involvement in the adult industry introduced me to this podcast. And I’ll never forget that excited smile while they explained about how some lovely story tellers were telling stories, REAL stories, about girls “just like us”. Thank y’all SO much for validating our existence!

    Stellar Podcast
They’ve really hit their stride in season 2! Super interesting stories that need to be heard. The breadth and depth of knowledge that Kaitlyn brings to the table is really remarkable.
  • The Pony King
    2 Stars
There are some really incredible stories here presented by uninspiring, and unimaginative hosts. This could be a good show given a colorful voice. Some people just aren’t heroes, but that’s precisely why they are so fascinating. Unsubscribing to free up some memory.
  • IPosie
    A real gem
What. A. Gem. Sassy and eloquent. A must-listen for all feminists, happy sluts, and prairie nymphs ;) THIS is how sex work is not just "destigmatized" but celebrated. THANK YOU for putting your voices out there.
  • Suggajazz
    Witty, comical and informative 🥇🧚🏾‍♀️

    Smart, Progressive, Thoughtful and Funny!
Smart, Progressive, Thoughtful and Funny! I absolutely ADORE this podcast. It feels essential to both the sex work culture, history of sex work and an asset to educating the world by demystifying and dismantling taboos around sex work. This brillinat podcast normalizes language, voices, history and stories in the industry.

Awesome way to present the oldest profession
Everyone should hear this podcast. I love the way Kaitlin presents all these stories that make prostitution look more humanized vs a mundane job. I hope this podcast can open a lot of eyes and minds. Keep up the great job. :)

Freaking hilarious - and sex positive AF
An unapologetic, sex-positive deep dive into the history of sex work. I can't stop listening. The only downside I’ve encountered is that I can’t buy Velvet Swing online or in my state at all, really.
  • sdumpling
    Everyone must listen!
This is my new favorite podcast, which is saying a lot since I have pretty much only listened to podcasts for ten years. These two women are super funny and smart and the history is fascinating. Each episode they dissect history in this way that explains modern sexism, patriarchy, and rape culture. They bring it all back to why men don't respect women today or why we value virginity over anything else or why we don't believe women. I want to go back and listen to every single episode and take notes. They will just be talking and laughing about something and then I'll be like, wait, that is smarter than anything I've ever heard in any class, book, blog, or discussion ever. This is a must listen for everyone!

She Knows Of What She Speaks!
I've been a fan of Kaytlin's ever since I saw her one woman show and saw how courageous she was in talking about her experience. She did it with grace and dignity and in doing that she empowers people to tell their own stories. Who best to talk about this than Kaytlin! It's a winner!

    Two Hilarious and Smart Ladies
As a huge fan of both Kaytlin and Wendi, I was thrilled when I heard that they were teaming up for a pod. The pod is about a topic that isn’t covered enough. You’ll learn a lot from these smart, hilarious ladies.

    Amazing!!!!
The Oldest Profession is the best new podcast today. It's exacly what I look for in a show: interesting and valuable, but also entertaining and so, so funny. Kaytlin and Wendy are charismatic af, and I plan to keep them in my podcast lineup for a long time. I can't recommend The Oldest Profession highly enough.

Too many people preach feminism yet look down upon sex workers. Kudos to K & W for teaching and making us laugh.
