    Fascinating Interviews
The interviews are great, whether it's an icon like Rick Wayne or someone before my time that I never heard of (like Joe Abbenda). I also enjoy the articles that John reads at the conclusion of the interviews. John is a very relatable, modest guy. Keep up the good work!

    Great show
My dad was an amateur bodybuilder in the 80s. I grew up around and always loved bodybuilding because of that. The depth of John’s interviews and the breadth of guests he has on is absolutely awesome. John’s interviews are entertaining and informative at the same time, harken back to the past, and would make even a hater of bodybuilding enjoy the interviews. This is a must listen.

    Best Bodybuilding Show
I got hooked on bodybuilding during the golden era and I am still hooked T age 66. John is one best interviewers in the sport. The scope of his guests is out standing and always informative and entertaining. True bodybuilding is found in the Classic division not in Open Building!

Authentic Bodybuilding History - the Real Deal
I would highly recommend this podcast to any fan of bodybuilding. John is a natural bodybuilding champion who has dedicated his life to the sport and is an expert at bringing the past alive, through his guests and his knowledge. The sport can at times suffer a bad reputation; through his guests, John cuts through the fluff which typical bodybuilding magazines traditionally display, and does so often with a no holes-barred attitude. His legendary guests are top notch.

    Love the show John!!
Hi John. I really enjoy your interviews with bodybuilding legends that I too grew up with during the 80s. I love hearing their stories and find them very interesting. I would love to hear you interview other great bodybuilders such as Lee Labrador, Rich Gaspari and maybe Lee Haney. In my opinion these were truly the last bodybuilders before the monsters came along. Keep up the great work and hope to hear more entertaining and informative shows and I always look forward to the next show. Brian

    A great escape
This is the best bodybuilding podcast. You can listen to John and you immediately imagine being in the gym with the legends of bodybuilding from every era. You receive priceless knowledge from every single episode. John is a great interviewer and his guests are amazing and interesting. Unlike other podcasts this isnt about controversy or hating on others. It is about the true love of the sport. It is a great escape from the roller coaster of life. If you are a fan of bodybuilding this is pure gold. Nick Rizzitello

    Thank you John Hansen.
This is the most informative and, for me, motivating bodybuilding podcast. After 7 years of not training I ran across this podcast and decided to listen after seeing the pic on the podcast app. This show reminds me of being a young lifter and buying my issues of Dan Lurie’s Muscle Training Illustrated. I love hearing from and about the bodybuilders I used to read about. I listen to this podcast while I train. Thank you John for your podcast “magazine” every week.

    Bodybuilding Legends Show
John does the best interviews on golden era bodybuilding. His knowledge of the subject is unparalleled. He also has great interviewing skills that allow his guest to relax and tell there stories. On subject I would love to see him cover would be a show on Serge Nubret. Due to Serges strand relationship with the Weider’s there is not much known about his training and diet.

    Old School Magic
John has so much passion for the sport and brings back wonderful memories. The stories are priceless and hearing the giants of the sport tell stories is wonderful. There are so many classes now and no strong personalities unlike back in the day. Highly recommended!!!

    Legendary podcast
Just got into the sport, but hadn’t found much inspiration until I found this podcast. Even though I wasn’t around in the 70s and 80s I feel like I was now that I’ve been listening. John does a great job of shining light on the old days when the sport was at its best, and I truly feel that I’m experiencing a little bit of what I missed out on.

    Classic Podcast
John does a great job keeping the beat of bodybuilding alive and well. From history, to training and posing, John brings the best guests to discuss the best parts of bodybuilding/fitness/physique. John has a great conversational style and his podcasts often feel like sitting around and having a conversation with kindred spirits. Keep up the great work John! And thank you for keeping the classics of bodybuilding alive and well!

    Outstanding and Entertaining
The best bodybuilding podcast on the web. John combines an uncanny knowledge of bodybuilding history, incredible personal experience being a top tier competitive bodybuilder, and finally an intoxicating love for the sport. I eagerly look forward to the next week’s episode. If you love bodybuilding, it’s impossible to not love this podcast!!! Truly inspiring and legendary in its own right!

    Excellent Show
I look forward to John’s show every week, it helps me get through a night of work. His guests are true icons of the sport hence the name “Bodybuilding Legends”. With his own history in bodybuilding and positive attitude, he’s able to reach out to guys that have been out of the sport for decades(and even some that have been hiding from it). John has great integrity, it’s displayed in his interviews. His guests are always comfortable answering questions and there’s never an awkward moment.

    Unleashing the legends!
John does a great job bringing out the best in his guest to provide the listeners with all the behind the scenes stories of bodybuilding’s beginnings. This podcast is truly ear candy (if that were a thing)! Love it!

Compelling interviews from influential people in bodybuilding history
I’ve been training for years and fell in love with bodybuilding in the early 90’s. Followed as much information as I could read on the subject (nutrition, training, philosophies etc). Competed a couple of times but just love the sport. Found this podcast recently and was so psyched to hear the people I’ve watched and read about for years. John, you’re doing an amazing job with this and I’m listening to every episode. If you’re interested in the amazing history of bodybuilding and hearing about it first hand- this is absolutely worth a listen.

    Informative and entertaining!
John Hansen is an excellent host! He asks interesting engaging questions. Allowing his guests time to fully answer and explain their experiences makes this show unique. I was not really interested in bodybuilding or it’s history. Found this by accident. I really learned alot!! One of my all time favorites.

    Inspiration from the Past!
I have struggled to find a podcast that is real and relevant to bodybuilding. This is just that for me. The way every bodybuilding legend tells their stories captivates my imagination. I am learning about the history and people I never knew existed in bodybuilding. Love the life stories and real down to earth conversations!
  • JAHNNIE
    Excellent!
If you are an old school bodybuilder or a young lifter you will enjoy Johns interviews with the greatest bodybuilders that ever lived. Thank you John for bringing to life the bodybuilders that were in the magazines from the 70s!

Subject Matter Expert, Easy to Listen to.
Not only IS John a professional in his field, but he acts like it. No matter which subject it is, you can tell in 5 minutes of discussion who knows their stuff and who doesn’t. John knows his stuff and his content is easy to listen to.

    Golden history

    Love this podcast!
As a 63 year old fitness enthusiast and gymrat, I rapidly became addicted to this excellent podcast! The entertainment and historical value is unmatched by any other podcast of this kind. John is an excellent interviewer. Most fitness podcasters talk more thann their guests-which irritates the crap out of me. John lets his guests tell their story, masterfully steering the interview in a way that maintains a steady flow keeps your interest peaked. John is also a top notch bodybuilder and fitness coach who has published some stellar work! Keep it coming, John. I'm loving it!

Great content- needs work on delivery
In a normal conversation mode, you continually give visual and auditory feedback while listening to someone speak. Unfortunately it makes it annoying to listen to. I’m sure it is almost unnatural to sit quietly while someone answers a question, but the best podcasts I listen to seem to have that consistent feature. The constant oks ahh, wows and most often times louder than the interviewees gets in the way of the content. Besides that, great show. I really enjoy listening to the history of the sport and the old school guys tell their stories.

    Porter Cottrell
John, I was at the Continental USA contest that Porter won. If I remember right, I think it was an extremely close contest because it was the first time I saw Mike Mungonvan. I think Jill O' Conner was the guest poser with an incredible performance. Another Great interview!!
