This is one of my favorite rp podcasts. The DM puts a lot of effort into his campaigns and the players are always a joy to hear. Definitely recommend

I’m a big actual play junkie, and some Reddit post led me to HOB. I listened to House of Annihilation first and loved it. They honor the world and the story well but their interpersonal banter and asides are lighthearted and hysterical. A perfect blend IMHO. Listening to Blackout now and it’s all that and more - great world building there. I like how they’re not afraid to shy away from hard choices and disaster depending on the dice roles. It makes you feel invested in the characters. Good sound and music design too! Would def recommend to anyone who likes other actual play podcasts!

I absolutely love The House of Bob! The cast is always fantastic, I love the chemistry they have and the energy they bring to the table. The editing is always really good (it feels authentically like a home ttrpg game, just with the boring parts cut out). If you’re looking for a new actual play podcast to listen to I can’t recommend this enough

House of Annihilation was *chef’s kiss.* Been a little less interested in Cave of Bob and The Sprawl content, but still good quality and good chemistry with the players.

Listen to the Paranoia and Cave of Bob episodes and persuade me this isn't the funniest, most clever actual-play podcast. House of Bob has great audio quality and production, funny and interesting players who put in effort, and DMs/GMs who make the game fun and surprising. If you like actual-play podcasts, this one is essential.

Great quality audio with background music and sound effects. Talented storyteller and adjudicator of rules, the DM does a great job of keeping things interesting, balanced and moving forward. Players are entertaining and it’s fun to listen to their antics. Combat is theater of the mind so you’re not missing anything by audio only.

Not the same as the GCP by any measure, but the House Of Bob has a similar high audio quality and entertaining crew that will make you want to keep listening. Just like with the GCP, HOB’s hilarious antics makes me make weird noises and strange faces in public places. Along with the GCP, this is one of the only role playing podcasts I’ve listened to with consistently amazing sound quality from the beginning. Of course, there are places the GCP and HOB diverge. The creators of HOB may not all be trained voice actors or comedians, but for certain the GM in HOB is in some ways better than Troy or even Skid, who are the GMs in GCP. In HOB the adventure path is not a homebrew, but the GM enables the players to have so many options that it almost is one. HOB’s GM does a fantastic job of making the players’ actions really matter. With this GM, making the wrong decision or rolling badly at the wrong moment could spell the end for your character, but their sacrifice will not be in vain: everything the players do moves the plot forward in fantastic ways. Even when players do something unexpected, it seems like the GM planned for that exact scenario. If you are wondering whether to give it a try, just go ahead and listen to the first episode. You won’t regret it.

I have been in the lookout for actual play podcasts that have the following criteria: high audio quality, knowledgeable players (about rules), interesting story, and running an official adventure module published by WoTC. Guess what? This is IT folks! I’m very happy to have found House of Bob. After this adventure, please continue with another official module!
