    Funny Hosts With Practical Advice
I have been listening to this podcast (I would have to guess) 8 years. For me the messaging from this podcast is, “It is all going to be alright” and “Don’t take it too seriously.” This was helpful for me as I was going through “everything is serious” in my start as a parent. They can make me laugh and feel good about whatever choices I have made as a parent.

    I just don’t know
I have just listened to one episode so I can only speak to that. But I was honestly so triggered by it I am afraid to listen to anymore. I was super excited about listening after reading the episode descriptions, so many of them are perfectly pertinent for what I am going through raising a toddler right now. But quickly into the episode I decided to listen to first I was like “oh dear…I’m not sure these are my people”…I chose to listen to the episode on parental preference first, because I’m going through that right now with my almost 3 year old and my partner. It’s been going on for over one year where my daughter will only allow her daddy to do bedtime routine, to read her stories, to sit next to her, to comfort her, when she’s sad, to soothe her when she’s injured and basically anything else really you can think of that parents do. She will let me play with her sometimes, but I think that’s just because she’s an only child and has no other option. And it’s not just a comment like “no I don’t want you, I want daddy” it’s crying, sobbing, hyperventilating seeing red near panic attack whenever mom tries to attend any of these needs. I’ve done all the “right things” We stay consistent and still insist on mommy doing bedtime every other night even if it means I’m just sitting next to her bed while she cries herself to sleep for daddy. I don’t show how much it hurts me, even if my heart is breaking inside. I return to my bed and cry myself to sleep. Because I don’t get this time back. While the hosts say they have been through this, it’s obvious they either have not, or they are completely heartless because how could you say someone is “bonkers” for being so upset by this. The way she spoke about her friend who seemed to go through the same thing as me was so demeaning. The way the one host said she is “over caring if her kids like her or not”….that is not someone I would ever take parenting advice from. I did really like one of the hosts and how she presented a lot of research and studies, but the other host was just so heartless and offensive I couldn’t listen to any more.

    The best!
Listening to these ladies got me through the pandemic with 2 kids under 2. Four years later, I’m still laughing, still learning, still listening— and the huge one: not feeling alone in the ups and downs of motherhood/parenthood. Thank you, thank you, Amy & Margaret! 🙏 If you’re a parent, listen, WFH is the best!

    Love this podcast
I’m a grandma who is a three day a week caregiver for my 3 year old grandson, so I am in the trenches (at least some of the time) with the moms of young children. I love the tips and insights that Margaret and Amy offer - with humor! - on a variety of topics that interest me. Their interviews with experts are also very helpful. I highly recommend this podcast.

The perfect balance of knowledge and fun
I started listening and at the time believed that just like any other podcast it would run its cycle and become less interesting, after all, there is “only so much” to talk about parenting right?! O boy I was wrong… I only have 2 boys but they are so different and one is on ASD, and every week I find great tips, advices and the most important “it’s not just me” feelings. The books suggested are usually amazing and it makes my reading list busy and interesting!!! I quote both A & M several times a week 🙈🙈 my friends are used to it by now and several listen also!! I really love this podcast and it truly works for kids all ages, stages, genders, all topics. Love it

The episode is coming from INSIDE THE CAR…
I would just about swear these hosts have my house/car tapped and are using my daily chaos to come us with episode topics, they are THAT relevant. Thank you WFH for dishing up what I need to hear with such humor and grace. I feel so seen.

    Best Parenting Podcast!
This is my favorite podcast and the only one I have listened to consistently for YEARS! These two are so funny and down to earth, but still full of practical advice. I don’t really write reviews but I just had to write a review of this one because this is such a great podcast! They have been there and done that and have great stories to tell that we can all relate to. Plus, all of the Fresh Take episodes are a great way for me to learn something new and find a new author or someone I didn’t know about yet!

Funny, informative and backed by stats!
I love that they keep the discussions light and interesting but still stuff plenty of facts and statistics from studies in to the discussions! My favorite podcast about motherhood!

    Amazing show
I Have been listening for over 4 years. I am a mom of 3 (5, 4, and 10 month old). Have got me through tough times with lots of laughs and heart. Keep the good episodes coming!

I’m a millennial mom of two kids under 4 and I still feel very seen
Amy and Margaret are Gen X moms with kids who are in their teens and tweens, but no matter what stage of parenting you are in, you can still gain a whole lot of helpful and stress relieving information. I had to turn off other parenting podcasts because they would just make me feel bad about myself. Not this pod — they do a great job at talking about parenting holistically and giving your kids a net positive upbringing, even if you’re not a perfect parent ❤️‍🩹

    Highlight of My Week
The moment I hear the music at the beginning of each episode, my blood pressure drops. I hoard episodes to listen to while I do laundry, mundane computer work, etc. This is BY FAR my favorite podcast; I love the intersection of science, best parenting practices, developmental psychology, and hilarious reflection. Amy and Meg are perfect hosts in my estimation, and I’ve learned so much from them.

    Informational, insightful and fun
I’ve been listening to this podcast since I had my youngest son almost 6 years ago. I was a mom of 3 under 3, just trying to survive each day and I immediately connected with this show! Time and time again show topics and discussions directly related to what I was experiencing and it continues to help me through this adventure called motherhood. Thank you Amy and Margaret for being so helpful, funny and relatable!

    Got me through a lot
The humor and humanity of this podcast has seen m through a lot. Living far away from family and with no friends with kids around, Margaret and Amy have been my surrogate mom friends through the pandemic and beyond. Genuinely funny and insightful, I look forward to every new episode.

    The Mom Friends You NEED
I can’t say enough wonderful things about this show! Margaret and Amy talk about motherhood how it really is - the highs and the lows. I love the balance of personal anecdotes with experts talking about diverse topics. Plus, a little break in the middle for some comedy. Highly recommend!

    Just love it!
What a great show! Hosts keep it real - no toxic positivity here (and no toxic negativity either!). Mix of personal experience, hilarious and insightful listener comments, and solid research from good sources makes this a winner of a parenting podcast- I’m a mom and pediatrician and love this show!!!
  • ELTIGBA
    You need to feel seen!
As a pediatrician, and a single mom, I often feel like no one sees me. These ladies tear that curtain down and make me feel like I have a thoughtful and compassionate posse of hilarious moms to process this parenting journey with! The content is entertaining and helpful and reassuring that we really are laughing in the face of motherhood together. I have shared this with many moms who vote 100% this podcast has made them happier parents.

    I needed this
So many mom podcasts are either too dark and sad or swing to overly cheery. Parenthood is hard, but it’s worth laughing over too! This is my favorite “me time” podcast in that quiet car ride between dropping the kids at school and heading to work. Thanks for the laughs!

WWAMD (What would Amy & Margaret Do?)
After listening for well over a year now, I often find myself wondering what would Amy & Margaret do when I encounter life’s daily surprises & hiccups. This podcast is one of those rare gems - a true, entertaining delight, combined with valuable & productive insights. Listening to them chat about topics that are also on mind feels like a great & meaningful gab sesh with girlfriends. I feel seen, heard…and most importantly, not crazy! Thanks for doing what you do ladies - please know you are a bright and funny light in an insanely busy season of life! Amy, I hope your piles are perfectly even before Christmas Day, and Margaret I hope you enjoy seasonal peanut brittle until your heart’s content!

    My favorite parenting podcast!
This is the perfect parenting podcast—interesting and informative topics, great dynamic between the hosts, and fun to listen to. I always come away feeling like I just hung out with two friends who totally get it, and I appreciate the new perspectives and humor they infuse into the topics. Also, if you’re looking for a gift for yourself, I highly recommend subscribing! The show’s ads aren’t bad, but it’s so satisfying to listen to episodes without interruptions (at least from ads—kid interruptions are another story lol). The bonus episodes are fun, too!
