    Design fail
This is the worst cover art for a podcast I have ever seen.

New Years Resolution: Leave Podcast Reviews
New Years Resolution: finally leave reviews for at least your top 50 podcasts. They give you way too much free entertainment. The least you can do is leave them a quick review. New Years Reality: I listen to 50+ exceptional podcasts. I don’t have time to write that many reviews. New Years Solution: Leave this cookie-cutter review for the few(ish) podcasts you love. Only review the ones you would (or have) recommended to people in real life. Review Note: I have listened to hundreds of podcasts, this is (in my humble opinion) the best of the best. Download, enjoy, and then recommend widely.

Perfect audio podcast! Family friendly too.
One of the best shows offered by public radio. Audio theater of the mind. Pure audio stimulation. Sometimes true stories. An excellent podcast. Thank you.

    The best narrative radio. Period.
These folks scour the globe for the most exceptional, (mostly) narrative, (mostly) non-fiction audio. Feeling un-inspired? Curiosity unsated? This is the anecdote.

    Intelligent, Imaginative, Informative radio

Fantastic stories from around the world.
Subscribe if you want to hear stories from all over the world. Unique opportunity to hear great stories collected from Australia, the UK, in addition to great shows from the USA. It’s hard to pin down a real theme for this show, other than to say that the editors here are great at curating their selections from the wide array of audio available to them.

One of the very best podcasts
You've heard all of Radiolab & TAL and need a new literate, well-produced listen? This is for you.

    Amazing Concept
Brings you the best from all aorund the world. Some stories can be a bit slow but they often end up being rewarding. One recent example was the story in the Lists episode about the man running. I will keep looking forward to more.

All I can say is I would be literally depressed if this went away.

    Terrific shows, instantly engaging.
I heard this program for the first time today (Episode no. 137, The Jazz and Freedom Show) and I was immediately hooked. Hugh Masekela and Ann Ciresi's stories were very moving. I'm in the process of downloading every single available episode right now.
  • Xyona
    Addicting!
Every single episode has been surprising, engaging, clever and well produced. I LOVE Gwen Macsai. She is a very talented radio personality that actively invites the listener in, but does not get in the way of the stories. Amazing. I have downloaded every single podcast available and and loving them. More! More!

    Everything but the pigeon
I love everything about this podcast but the pigeon logo. Great variety of stories and found sound, both historic and current. Love the events 3rd coast puts on as well, so glad they're in Chicago. Very excited to hear from the short docs competition this year - just another awesome endeavor this group does

    Great escape
I love hearing this podcast every week because of the storytellers; they're always different and the producers do a great job of putting out the best. You owe it to yourselves to listen to.

    Keep it up doves!

Brain Food + Ear Candy = Listen!
These folks scour the world for the best audio stories they can find. If you care about what your listen to sounds like as well as what it says, rank this up there with Radiolab, 99% Invisible, Too Much Information, Joe Frank, and yeah, This American Life, as an exemplary aural experience.
  • Doc Moreau
    Superb
Arguably the best podcast on the internet. Katie Mingle, keep it coming!
  • Blankoliver

Third Coast is an island of refuge...
in a sea of politics and geek speak. When I need a break from NPR or Leo Laporte I go here. Outstanding and unusual topics woven together artfully. Love the recent Reflections piece, and the Too Hard Basket, among many others! Highly recommended.
  • swat222
    great podcast
If you like This American Life and similar podcasts, you will love this one even more. It has stories that are fascinating and with different perspectives than most podcasts. I love the inclusion of stories from around the world, including the content from Australia, which is refreshing and incredibly interesting. This American Life has gotten somewhat boring of late, and this is a refreshing change.

a cuddly rainy day in bed with a book feeling
I've been an avid listener for the last 7 months and this podcast has taken me to worlds and places that have truly broadened my thinking. They are extremely talented and skillful at what they do. I listen to a lot of podcasts but this one has had the most impact on how I see the world. I'm not kidding.
  • newbiedoo
    Inconsistent, pushy
The content can be interesting, but I really think the sound guys and the editors need to back off and let the stories be. I always feel directed, and micromanaged by production, and, well, is that ever good? 3rd Coast: you are not RadioLab, and should not try so hard to be or outdo RaidoLab. Two stars and "I don't like it" is not accurate, but I can't quite say it's ok either.
  • thatdarkelectric
    Listen.
This is a shortcut to what you otherwise would have to work hard to hear. This is careful without tedium, thoughtful without self-indulgence, edifying without pedantry. This is radio motivated by fascination, and so it is what I want to listen to.

    new fan
took me 45 minutes to sign up to write this review, but i was seduced into it by the entreaty to leave some kindly words. i discovered the podcast and show about three weeks ago and now look forward to the bus ride to work so I can listen uninterrupted. what a wonderful find!
  • Nick Cheng
    Definitely worth a listen.
It's wonderful to listen to so many high-quality clips from different countries. I especially enjoy the episodes where a longer story is spotlighted. Would be great to hear from a wider variety of countries even if some content has to be translated just for the variety of perspectives. Very much love the variety of stories, but I think trimming some of the framing/commentary (and definitely the silly songs) would be nice. Overall, amazing pieces that I very much enjoy listening to every week.

    Celebration of radio
This is my favorite podcast. A nice contrast to This American Life storytelling (which I also enjoy) - more off the beaten path and expiremental in its approach and always interesting and well done. Well worth a listen!

    Third Coast is excellent
The podcasts from Third Coast International Audio Festival are consistently some of the best radio I have heard. High quality productions, very interesting themes and stories, always entertaining. It is at the same level as one of my other favorites, This American Life. This show has also introduced me to other neat radio shows, like Sherwin Sleeves. The name is kind of confusing though. Festivals are usually one-time events, but not this one, and they also call themselves Re:Sound. Oh well, the show is great in spite of the name(s).

    !
Listen in a quiet place when you won't be interrupted - you won't want to miss anything in these well-curated, cleverly-produced radio pieces.
  • bonjondemarco
    Awesome Show
If you love radio, or sound, or just listening in general you'll love this show. While the subjects- some of which I find more interesting than others- vary week to week, the quality of the radio work they find is always exceptional.
  • ooooo1
ok show with one HUGE exception
episode #125 about Nick Drake. Why why why all that pretentious tape noise, panning, and overdubbing? Really annoying. Perhaps you thought effects could mask your indolent hipster drone but instead put it front and center.

    This show is amazing!

    Spotlight for innovative, beautiful storytelling!
For fans of This American Life and RadioLab and for anyone who enjoys a radio show that can totally absorb your mind. I look forward to every episode, knowing that I have no idea what I'm in for. ReSound's high-quality, intelligent work can come from any part of the world and be covering just about anything. My favorite stories seem to typically come out of Australia. Also featured is a lot of innovative sound editing work from seasoned reporters to casual onlookers. My personal favorite has been "The Lemon Tree".
  • suible
    Great!
Some of my favorite podcasts - the topics are different than what you find elsewhere or at least approached from a very different point of view. Some of the stories I find myself thinking about days later. The editing is very well done.
